We pretty much got battered throughout but their strikers were about as potent as a glass of water. You wouldn't have thought so with names like Dwight Gayle in their starting line-up. I suppose you could put it down to a good defensive display restricting them to mostly hopeful shots from outside of the box. Matt Taylor seems to be a bit more tactically astute too. All in all a great night and 3pts closer to safety.
Really disappointing I thought we might get something but we conceded some really soft goals, or at least Hull's strikers made scoring look really easy. The positives are we scored some goals and that's about it. We now have some tough away games coming up and could easily be down near the bottom of the table come the international break.
I'd be happy with a point tonight, don't expect Coventry to be at the bottom of the table for much longer.
Yeah it feels more like a defeat when you've lead twice and concede a penalty in injury time... still a good point though... it seems like anyone can beat anyone in the Championship this season. There's nobody running away with it at the top and nobody getting cut adrift at the bottom aside from maybe Huddersfield, so could it require 55pts or more to avoid relegation the way things are going? We just need to keep the points ticking over with draws and a few wins.
Yeah more injury time heartbreak. We had to play the last 15mins (well 25mins with the 10mins injury time) with 10 men for a soft as fook yellow card (second yellow), I know we've had some tough games recently but I'm starting to get vibes from past seasons where we kept falling just short week in week out.
Lets see how we manage to fook things up today, either by not turning up and having a mare or clutching another defeat from the jaws of victory. Assuming we play like we did at Burnley then form-wise you'd expect us to get something against Norwich.
It's just one disaster after another at this point, we equalise and Norwich just run straight up the other end and score. At the start of the season we were beating teams we weren't expected to beat and now we aren't even though we are playing some pretty good football at times. I think Taylor has us playing more attacking football but we're now conceding too many goals. We were pretty solid at the back under Warne.
We play the Blades tonight, kick off in less than half an hour. Most people are expecting us to get an absolute tonking so we might be good for a point.
Another late horrow show. 8 points separating the play-offs and bottom 3 going into the international break.
We're currently losing 3-1 to Bristol, poor. We need to stop trying to play expansive football and get back to focusing on our defending, we're just conceding too many goals under Taylor's attacking style of play. I'm pretty sure we were achieving more results when Warne had us playing a bit more negatively, we aren't going to pick up many points when we're conceding 2-3 goals per match. We just don't have the players to out-football other Championship teams and that's before the inevitable exodus when the contracts of our better players run out.
