Most interesting. Allie Long is still in the mix. Long, Mewis, and Horan all competing for one midfield spot?

    O'Reilly hasn't been dismissed. Yet.

Most interesting of all. Ashley Sanchez who is 16 years old. It would be most interesting to see here in Pugh in the match at the same time.

U.S. Women’s National Team Roster By Position:GOALKEEPERS (3): Ashlyn Harris (Orlando Pride), Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars), Hope Solo (Seattle Reign FC)

DEFENDERS (8): Whitney Engen (Boston Breakers), Jaelene Hinkle (Western New York Flash), Julie Johnston (Chicago Red Stars), Meghan Klingenberg (Portland Thorns FC), Ali Krieger (Washington Spirit), Kelley O’Hara (Sky Blue FC), Becky Sauerbrunn (FC Kansas City), Emily Sonnett (Portland Thorns FC)

MIDFIELDERS (7): Morgan Brian (Houston Dash), Tobin Heath (Portland Thorns FC), Lindsey Horan (Portland Thorns FC), Carli Lloyd (Houston Dash), Allie Long (Portland Thorns FC), Samantha Mewis (Western New York Flash), Heather O’Reilly (FC Kansas City)

FORWARDS (5): Crystal Dunn (Washington Spirit), Alex Morgan (Orlando Pride), Christen Press (Chicago Red Stars), Mallory Pugh (Real Colorado), Ashley Sanchez (So Cal Blues)

So not good for Rampone. Also it seems if u want a shot at the NT u either need to play for Portland or have UCLA on your resume'/future.

Big sigh. Is there any rhyme or reason to who Ellis calls in? Barnes got her following taking the winter off to go hiking. Long gets this call I guess based on how much she has improved while not playing after Ellis dropped her. Sanchez gets a call based on how she played against CONCACAF U17s. And of course Barnes is one and done just like Huster last year.

    Dunn feels old

    Press is old :speechless:

OTOH, this is exactly how a friendly should be used, right? See if HAO gets a minute and Engen gets two.

    MacCaffrey is gone too.

I like Long, but would have preferred more technical miss called up, like Rose.

    Hinkle... hmm...

Pretty soon a 12-year old will be called up before Ohai...............sorry, just venting, nothing against Sanchez. :(

Ur right...vent away. Sanchez is very talented and her time will come but why now? If Long was put on because Brian has a hamstring injury then this would have been the perfect time to add another Dash player.

At this point I'd say the likelihood of Ohai being called up to the NT is somewhere between hell freezing over and pigs flying. Perhaps if she leads the league in scoring and assists this year she may receive a token call-up to practice with the team for a couple of days.

Well if that were the case, then Dydasco would be getting called in rather than Hinkle...

It's beyond me that Ohai does not get a call-up, EVER!

We can say that Jill has experimented and brought many new people in for at least a look after the World Cup, but Kealia Ohai gets no love by Jill whatsoever. None. Zilch. Nada. Nishta. Nothing...WHY?

I feel like HAO has less of a chance of getting any playing time in these matches than some players who aren't even on the roster.

I don't understand the HAO situation. It's like she knows Ellis doesn't rate her. Yet she keeps accepting these call up's like something is going change. The whole damn team could go down with injuries and she wouldn't play under her. I seriously doubt she is hurting for money. Why be some one bitch practice player, when your better than that? Confusing situation.

There is the detail that she probably makes $200,000 a year while a member of the National Team -- whether she plays or not. Rampone also seems to be hanging on, and Abby was in no rush to retire. 200,000 is a big incentive to hang in there.

I think HAO is the best right midfielder the US team has -- and HAO probably thinks so also. So, HAO may be hoping that Ellis find enlightenment and play her. Probably, won't happen -- but....

It will be interesting to see if HAO doesnt get a roster spot but Ellis names her an alternate.

Actually, despite all logic it is actually looking better for HAO (assuming Sanchez doesnt pull a Pugh)

Roster kinda looks like this now
    GK Solo, Naeher
    CB Sauerbrunn, Johnston, Sonnett
    OB Klingenberg, Krieger, O'Hara
    CM Lloyd, Mewis, Horan, Brian
    OM Pugh, Heath
    F Morgan, Press, Dunn

That leaves one spot to fill. Do u want a fourth outside back, a fourth center back or HAO?

Yep, doesn't look good for Rampone. I had thought Rampone might officially retire and be given one of these friendlies as a farewell match, assuming she's healthy again.

I would think it looks great for Rampone-- I think she's only making herself available in case there's an injury crisis on the back line. Nobody gets hurt, she gets to retire having done all she was asked to do.
