James Edwards loves soccer and he has written some good articles including the above. Some of the things you will see on this newspaper's editorial page are a little wacky and their letters to the editor are even weirder. But we've got a great soccer writer right here in Utah.

Funny that Slaton is removed from the WUSA All-Star match because of injury, yet she'll be on the pitch for the USWNT.
Greetings from the La Quinta Inn & Suites near the SLC airport (and then later this afternoon from the Sheraton in downtown). Gonna be a gorgeous day down here. FearM9 is gonna hit the Blitzz game beforehand. Hey FearM9, come on down and join the rowdies for the Blitzz match. We usually try to sit behind the visiting bench. The Blitzz match at Orange County got a little heated a few weeks ago and the Blitzz supporter's group is waiting to bring out the welcome wagon for them. Utah's stadium is listed around 45-46000, but if they seat everyone along the sides for this match down low, that area of the stands should be fairly packed. If all of the ticket buyers (over 15,000 at last report) for this match show up, there will probably be more people actually in the stadium than for some of the Ute pointy ball games last fall. The Utes typically sell 35000 with over half of them not bothering to show up. (Sadly, I'm not joking, that stadium looks empty for Ute games.)
