And yet another Forward incoming from the Scottish League, St. Mirren: There is a report on the Reddit that FC Frankfurt wanted him as well.
Good news sports fans! Also, from that article: "By signing him earlier, they will also be required to pay a small fee to St Mirren to compensate for the deal."
Olasunya deal gets over the line: https://www.houstondynamofc.com/new...ign-forward-toyosi-olusanya-from-st-mirren-fc
Crucial question now is do we have his papers in order for a fast arrival and integration or are we gonna fumble P-1 visas, passports, etc like we historically do? Hopefull signing & now hope we have the players that can pass to our new scoring threats
Trash ass Aliyu can't steal money from us anymore! Happy day!! It's almost as if the players that I've been belly aching about over the past three years have been told to hit the bricks. Must be coincidence.
I don’t remember which one of yous is always complaining about Ponce, but he looked extra slow against Colorado. So heavy footed that he would make Brian Ching look like Carl Lewis.
A team can deploy at their #9 position some tree trunk, heavy footed of a center forward. However, the man must be terrific at other aspects of that position like being the go to back to the goal target up top that links the attack arriving from the middle third. Also the player must be a threat at flighted ariel service that cause the oppositions keeper to really work all 0- minutes. Ching was very good at this. Ponce, meh, not so much.
That would be me. And you are correct, his lack of speed and or quickness is just one of his many attributes we over paid for
bingo one hope is that he may posses some skill in receiving, then dishing the ball to another runner. We have yet to see this because we didn't have any players who make runs, especially once Ponce got the ball. Ponces turnover issues don't help but hopefully with our new players, we will see more secondary runs after the ball finds Ponce and he can provide assists or even hockey assists to players arriving from the middle third. Maybe PS Hey, I'm trying!!
Noteworthy to my ears: - Wound up with 14 new players. Much bigger than anticipated. - Disappointed in speed of replacing Mica. - Goal is building sustainable winner, with emphasis on sustainable. - This group can compete. - Still want to be high possession team. - Thinks team needs to connect to fans better, sign autographs, etc. - Need to figure out how to step up supporters group/atmosphere. - Lingr can be bought down, freeing Big DP slot. U22 slot now open with Aliyu move. - Big DP of a HH size needs to help move needle on field and in the stands.
Below report is from MLS. Briefly glancing at this report for all teams, it looks like the Dynamo now have one of the highest levels of available GAM in the league. So Summer window options include: 1) adding another U22 DP, and 2)buying down Lingr and adding a big DP; or 2) adding two big DPs. - assuming available cap space, or ability to create cap space with GAM. I assume they can but I don't have those rules under control. Maybe someone else knows, but what I don't get is the report showing 8 Int slots available, but 9 used.
Pay whatever Cincinnati wants to take their Muller spot and use the rest to sign him. That would finally make good on the "go big" promise. I'll also accept Son or Jonathan David
Another Dynamo 2 player from Argentina: This guy has the notoriety of leading his team to a FINAL of a competition played in a tunnel beneath a river -- the famous Copa Túnel Subfluvial: https://www.houstondynamofc.com/new...an-forward-tomas-romero-on-loan-from-ca-union note: I do realize that the Copa is actually played on regular soccer fields in the metro area that spans both sides of the river.
There is a twitter post claiming Anderlehct of Belgium is nosing around Jack McGlynn. If Jack heads to Europe this Summer please remember that I said when he came that such a move is the plan and happening this summer would not surprise me. If he does not move … then you can forget I said that.
It’s indeed right that he’s very appreciated but the main focus’s on Saliba right now for that position yet.— Sacha Tavolieri (@sachatavolieri) June 8, 2025 Sacha Tavolieri who's a very reputable Belgian reporter says that Anderlecht think he's a good player but Saliba is their main target.
Tom Bogart on SoccerwiseHQ Tuesday had the following to say about Jack McGlynn transfer possibilities - I'm summarizing and paraphrasing: - He knows that the Dynamo are getting calls about McGlynn from multiple countries in Europe. - He suspects that they Dynamo will not agree to less than $8m -- that is his guess. - He sees a move this summer as unlikely since the possibility of a good world cup could dramatically impact value. For me -- I think if Jack has a good Gold Cup and a good offer comes in I would jump at the chance. I don't see Jack getting USMNT minutes in 2026 over McKinney, Cardoso, Pulisic, Musah, Tessman, etc.

Esta semana… pic.twitter.com/AT692fN6gs— Valentín Canale (@ElOtroValentin) June 16, 2025 Lodeiro is gone
I posted that this was possible, if not likely, back when Lodeiro was signed. I don't mind getting his roster space back.
