He is cup tied for one. However now that Toulouse are out of the CL they might concider letting him go. But he would not be cheap, he was their attack last season. It's no secret that I'm a fan of his but I really do think he'd fit in well in our side...

Rooney is not back, he broke a bone.. it doesn't matter how hard you are. You don't heal a broken bone in 3 weeks. At least you are not ready to play straight away...

Well ya thats what I thought, but in the match thread someone said that he wanted to play v Spurs, and might be on the bench for Sunderland...

That's because he IS hard as a nail and wants to play even though he is not fit. he wanted to play in injections against Spurs according to SAF. 2 weeks after he broke his foot. That doesn't mean that he should or could... he's a nutter and we love him for it...

Louis Saha should take a long hard look at Rooney for what a professional footballer shuold be doing. Roioney just wants to play football. Saha seems to be looking for ways out......

Which is odd because back in January Fergie wanted to sell him but he decided to stay.

Nope, Fergie wanted a loan deal at either Everton or Villa - at least they were the 2 strongest candidates to get him for 6 months. SAF wanted him to get match fit after his early performances in November (in the Carling Cup and a few Prem minutes I think) were quite poor due to fitness.

In the end, he decided to stay and do a special fitness programme with us at the club, which was obviously a good decision come March/April when Saha was gone again. I wouldn't say Smudge was integral to the title, but he played a big role down the stretch.

Dunno if anybody has the ability to watch reserve matches, but Saha is possibly playing in today's, according to the Beeb's rumor page.

You positive? I'm pretty sure he did, mainly just to increase the buy-out clause if someone came for him and didn't negotiate with Lisbon. It was a 6 year deal tying him to Sporting till 2013.

Yes I'm sure, no formal announcement from Sporting. Nani had come out and said he wanted more money/extension and/or Sporting wanted to reup him to give him a raise and match his release clause to the likes of Moutinho, Veloso, and Djalo's contracts. This all started near January/Feburary, Tottenham interest was reported and from there, no new contract could be finalized and Man Utd came in and paid his old release clause.
