Hey guys ,i heard of this place and am interested in going. How's the atmosphere?? And when do they show their games/?
I haven't been there since last year, but I've always enjoyed going. The last time I saw Zak there, he was falling on the floor, tipping over chairs, and nearly passing out in the bathroom. The atmosphere is ok. Its kind of got this English pub flavor, slash, basement of the Ramada Inn flavor. The beer selection is good, food is good, and some of the staff are pretty cool. They'll show games if they're on your normal cable package. I don't think they have any special setup, but I could be wrong. When games are on, they have a large TV in the main room and several smaller TVs around the place.
Why, are you suprised to hear this? I thought it was a lot of fun. You were cracking me up man. You were trying to play pool and argue with Paul about footy, but were doing neither of them particularly well
I really dig the place....but i wouldn't head theer if you were looking for a place to get hammered of fine a nice broad. If you just want a few pints some good food and a place to watch games its a damn fine place.
When in Columbus a couple of weeks ago house hunting I dropped by the R & T; on three successive days, actually. It was...different than I expected/hoped, in that it's in a rather odd location (essentially, the basement of an office building) and is a lot bigger than I'd envisioned. Still, the staff were extremely friendly, the food good. On the beer, however, I must disagree with the other posts in here; it's okay, but not very interesting at all. The place would benefit greatly from beers like Fuller's ESB, an Ohio micro ale or two and, perhaps, an interesting guest tap to compliment the Bass/Guinness/Newcastle standards. If they show games, I'll be there all the time. If not, I'll pop in every now and then (until/unless the beer selection expands).
I've been going here alot lately. I have yet to ask if they show the games on TV. Do any of you go there regularly?
They have ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, FSW, as well as the local "crew" channels (FSOH, UPN, etc.). They should show the Crew games, as well as other MLS games no problem. I even popped in there a few times last year for a-league games. They didn't subscribe to the MLS package last year, though. However, once in a while, they'll buy a game like the FA Cup Final or whatever. Their intentions for one game last year (can't remember which) were to put it on with no cover fee, and provide a breakfast buffet, but satellite problems prevented that.
thanks for the listings. I wonder if they will subscribe to Euro 2004 this summer? I could always ask.
