I am a Real Madrid fan and this is one of the saddest news recently for me. Ronaldo is my favourite player ever and I really hoped he could get back to his best at AC Milan, because in last two seasons at Real Madrid he lost all his hunger for football.
Sad day indeed for football, one of the greatest players of all time. I wish him all the best in the future.

MILANO, 14 febbraio 2008
- Ronaldo has been transported to Paris by plane where he will be operated on at at 6PM by the same midical team who operated on his right knee in 2000. Professor Gerard Saillant confirmed to the Ap that he will not be the one who will operate on the reconstruction of the tendons of the Milan forward. "he will be operated tonight or tomorrow by Eric Rolland - he said -, my successor at the Pitie-Salpetriere. I'll assist in the operation" - confirmed Saillant, who in 2000 operated on his right knee for a similar injury.

Take off was projected to be at 10: Ronaldo boarded an ambulatory plane from Linate airport directly to Paris, even with a fog dealy anche. Accompanied by his fiancee Maria Beatrix, and his fisioterapista Bruno Mazziotti, his freind and Milan official Leonardo and club doctor Massimiliano Sala. Ronaldo left the orthopedic institute Galeazzi di Milano with a cast attached to his left leg. The Brazilian was taken home aboard a greay car along with his girlfirend and Leonardo, and was applauded by about 20 fans who were waiting for him in front of the hospital.

ROTTURA TOTALE - The risonanza magnetica, as Jean-Pierre Meersseman explain , done by MilanLab, and the primary doctor of the traumatologia sportiva, Walter Pascale, "confirmed the total tear of the tendon to the left knee". "Ronaldo - Meersseman added- asked to be operated in Paris by the same medical team conducted by Professor Saillant, the same who reconstructed his right knee 8 years ago. "He was excellent. These types of operations have gotten better in these last 8 years», stated Dr. Pascale who responded if this injury could be carrer threatening: "If things fgo as planned, he will return to be a great soccer player. However, its difficult at the moment to determine a definite recuperating time".

UN ANNO DI PROBLEMI - Professor Meersseman had also spoke about the dynamics of the reconstruction: "He was hit from behind and he felt the impact with his planting foot". On top of all this, in the preceeding days, Ronaldo had talked of some problems to the same knee: the same knee gave him problems last week as he felt something, which did not let him train yesterday". Ronaldo carreer however is not yet over. Piero Volpi, medical doctor of Inter 1995 al 2000 is convinced of it. "Its a serious injury- he commented on SkyTg 24 - but its one that can be healed, today it can heal even better because the technology has improved. Recuperation time is around 8-10 months and I'm not a pessimist on Ronaldo's career. The problem however, is that he is8 years older than he was in 2000 and for an athlete its always harder to come back when he is older".

L'INCORAGGIAMENTO DI BERLUSCONI - Milan's peresident , Silvio Berlusconi, is an optimist: "I called him last night, I told him to believe in himself, and he has a lot of heart. Today he will be operated on at 31 years of age still young enough, I believe he can come back in a few months of rehab and be the champion he once was, this is the wisgh of every athlete". Professor Saillant has demonstrated to be cautious of Ronaldo's career: "Considering his age and that he is 8 years older than he was last time , its difficult to say when he can return", concluded theFrench specialist.

MARE DI MESSAGGI - In the meantime Milan fans, but also those from other teams, have given their affection towardss the Fenomeno, with mails and sms messages. Even our web site has opened up a channel for Ronaldo's SMS msgs: everyone will be answered, the best ones will even be printed in the Gazzetta.

It's nice that they are saying this. But I think we all know Ronaldo will never play top level football again. If it took him 2 years to recover from the same injury when he was 23. It surely will take as long or longer to recover at 31. He might play again in Brazil, USA, or Japan. But I'm fairly confident we saw the last of Ronaldo in Europe last night.

I never thought this would be in the script, it was too cliche to think possible. I know he deeply wanted that Champions League trophy and Milan was his best chance to get it.

I want to believe that he can come back next year and realize his dream but every bit of logic says otherwise.

Ronnie I'm soo sorry :(

Ronaldo has been operated on
Rehab will take 9 months

More than a tow hour operation for the Brazilian at the Pitiè-Salpetriere clinic in Paris where Professor Rolland performeda reconstructive surgery of the left knee. Professor Saillant: "Evenrything went well. Will he return to the playing field? Its up to him"

MILANO, 14 febbraio 2008 - Ronaldo has been operated on. After two hours the player left the operating room at the Pitiè-Salpetriere where his tendons were repaired. A satisfied medical staff who operated on him: "Everything went well". Dr. Gerard Saillant, a consultant in the new operation informed everyone on the conditions of the rossonero player: "The operation lasted a little more than 2 hours without any problems. Now Ronaldo will have to take part in an extensive rehabilitation program which will last 9 months. Can he continue playing? Its up to him. Its evident that that his comeback will depend on his rehab, but also on his will to play. The psychological factor is important almost as much as the physical aspect. Anyway, its up to him".

I'm so sorry to hear of this sad news! :( To be honest, I don't think we'll see him on the pitch again.

Why do so many world class strikers have to finish their career so early due to injury?

I just had a great read on Ronaldo's standing in the history of the game, in a post by Tribune (one of the very best BS posters) in the Manchester United boards. The issue at hand was whether Ronaldo had marquee games in the seasons he played for Barcelona. Figured I should share:

Ronnie comes off crutches
Ronaldo’s recovery from severing a knee tendon is ahead of schedule and the striking star is walking unaided.

There were fears that El Fenomeno’s career was over when he severed a tendon in his knee in a game against Livorno in February.

However, after a successful operation on February 13 and 41 days of physiotherapy, things are looking more positive and Ronnie is now walking without the aid of crutches and has an almost complete range of motion.

“I am really happy with how things are going and because I don’t feel any pain now,” the 31-year-old declared to journalists.

Physiotherapist Bruno Mazziotti is also delighted with the speed of the former Real Madrid man’s recovery.

“We are working slowly but surely to get the best results possible. Ronaldo is increasing in confidence and taking a more independent approach,” he revealed. “In the coming weeks we will start to work with weights.”

Ronnie is set to meet Gerard Saillant – the head of the surgical team that performed the procedure – on April 3, but he will attend training at Milanetto to see his teammates this week

Lol, if she stole it he would file a report about it being stolen.

He didn't.

He filed a report about the Trannies trying to extort him for money AFTER they had their "fun". *shudders* Hence the reason why he still payed them for the "service". *shudders*

So after he was done with them, which is why he picked them up late at night, but the man faced "lady" has his stuff in the early morning.

Also stop trying to make excuses. That tranny and I'm sure the other two look like men. Disgusting.

Ronaldo said he payed for 3 women. When he saw the trannies, he payed them to leave and shut up about it. One of them wanted a lot of money and he refused.

That's the story he told at the police station...

Honestly, I don't give a rat's behind about someone's perversions or even just plain lack of taste in women. He's in his 30s now, though. His team is embroiled in a battle for CL soccer and even halfway around the world he can't help but be a distraction. The guy's a moron.

I'm of the opinion that one can be sexually active and still not get involved in an altercation in a hotel room with three transvestites. Trust me, I've done it.

That's what I'm saying. If Ronaldo wants to play with dingalings on occasion it makes no difference to me. I do think he should be discrete enough about it so as to not get caught when his team is locked in an important end-of-season battle, however.
