He gets credit for an assist on a throw and now a tiny two foot pass that his teammate takes for a serious ride before scoring beautifully.... but gets no credit for that play in the 1st half where he takes an unreal touch off a long ball over his shoulder and in the same stride flicks it over perfectly for de Jong to put away. Assist numbers can be very misleading. Expected Assists might be a better stat for goal scoring chances created.
