Deal is still to be agreed. It's quite a big move for Vlaar, as the AZ chairman says "He is only young, and living by yourself in London is a big step, as he is from a tiny village. It is a big step and we will see what he decides." Hopefully will come through, Edgar and Jol will look after him
Er, yeah. He's 20. So? The point i was making is that his rise has been rapid, nothing to do with age or ability. Just that everything has come to him in a short period of time. Spurs are selling at least one player, and another will retire soon enough. Makes sense to me.
I've seen the guy play, can't really say he's the next Jaap Stam. One of Stam's biggest assets(in his prime) was that although he was big and strong, he was extremely fast off the ball. He could catch up to almost anyone. I'd say Vlaar has more similarities to Frank de Boer's style, although I hate putting labels on upcoming talent cause, if he succeeds, he might end up with his own legacy.
I'm a total twat, i'm a sock that has no life and i've got to go out and see what the world is cuz i've never left my house before.
Erm, no. I disagree 100%. Spurs are not a selling club, they are not a small club in the league that needs to make a profit by developing players. Why bother selling the club captain when he's not unhappy and has a long term contract. That's stupid. The reason, for the millionth time of saying so, for buying another Centre Back is because of this: Naybet is retiring soon, Davenport is being sold, Gardner will most likely be sold too (Charlton). The squad is too big really, hence players going on loan, so by selling some and replacing them with another means that there is back up to the main partnership of King and Dawson. It really is that simple. There's no need for conspiracy theories or accusations that have no basis in truth, like the one above. No wonder you've got a red rep mark instead of lots of lovely green ones.
Maybe this is me being crazy...but could Spurs play some games with three in the back, like this? -------------Robinson ------Vlaar---Dawson---King Tainio---Carrick----Davids---Lee --------------Jenas ---------Defoe-----Mido Seems like they would have this option to get more of their central players out there, and with as much as Lee goes forward anyway... Again, just a thought.
Martin hates the 3 at the back formation. He loves the 4-4-2 & 4-3-3 formations. Good thinking though.
I like the look of that side. Not bad for away games. As Jaymes said though, BMJ just doesn't do the whole 3 at the back thing.
Why don't you kindly fvck off and buy a clue about Spurs before daring to show your pimpled face here again.
Everyone ignore cobra, he's a sock and a troll, i'll keep editing his posts if he continues to post crap.
http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?...Vlaar+swoop&lid=2&channel=Football_Home&f=rss Jol on Sky Sports saying no deal and that he wasn't interested in Vlaar, reckons AZ were playing games by claiming a deal had been agreed. I suspect Vlaar wanted guaranteed first team football, which the club obviously would not offer him.
If he wants guaranteed first team football, we must tell him to fvck off, if he is does not want to fight Dawson for the centre back spot then no problem let him go to Ajax or wherever.
theres nothing wrong in suggesting ledly king is likely to leave spurs and that jol will target young talent as they have limited funds and cant go out and buy ready made players like ajen robben, SWP etc. they have to indentify and bring in the talent early. when was the last time spurs were in europe and made a cup final, dont get carried away with the standing of your club. liverpool, man utd, chelsea, arsenal are much bigger teams
