Interesting, Pooch the new US mnt coach, so no fee owed. Did not want him for Chelsea, may change my mind after a month of Enzo sr., but the US could have and usually has done much worse. Though my main issue with Berhalter was the inability to timely adjust or make impactful subs, and neither are pooch's strong-suit. But the team should be fit and his starting game plans work a fair amount of the time.

Berkhalter was lost across the board and every player’s best bud. This is an exponential upgrade.

Would have loved to see Klopp take the position. Regardless so happy the berhalter era is over. He killed all interest I had in the team. Gald Poch is in and can hopefully find consistency

Poch is a better coach than Berhalter.
Poch is not a good coach.

    Both are true.

Is he good enough to lift the US over teams we'll likely be grouped with at the World Cup? I doubt it. The US defense is really porous, especially in the center.

The US will likely face a solid Euro/South American power plus an African and Asian nation. Not advancing past the group is kind of the ceiling for them.

Poch has at least managed to get teams to finals, us included. I think he's got his issues (Discipline for one), but he's a massive upgrade over Berhalter who had no business being in the US job.

Of course. It could have been so much worse.

The third kit…super meh for me. Sounders had essentially the same kit a few years ago. Didn’t buy that one either. The comments on the IG posts, tho…‍♂️

Meh, there are no good native English-speaking managers in the game.

There are no good American managers in the game.

Pochettino being neither native English speaking, nor American is a positive for that program.

That said, neither USSF, nor CONCACAF are serious about being serious contenders for any serious competitions. And the USMNT roster is really middling, if we're to be intellectually honest about it.

    Quiet international break . . .

    Sky Report:

“Clearlake Capital are open to buying out Todd Boehly but they will not sell their own shares in Chelsea. Chelsea majority owners Clearlake remain totally committed to the club and will not sell any of their 62% shareholding amid reports investors are in talks about buying each other out. Todd Boehly is believed to be considering selling his shares just over two years after he was the public face of the consortium which bought the club.
According to Bloomberg, the relationship between co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Boehly has deteriorated in recent month and both sides are assessing their options.
However Eghbali and Clearlake will not sell any of their 62% of shares under any circumstances. They are not in talks about selling shares and they are not under any pressure to sell. If other investors want to sell their shares then Clearlake are open to buying their shares.
Relations between Eghbali and Boehly can be described as professional. Boehly was in the Clearlake box before the opening game of the season against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Clearlake own 62% of Chelsea and Boehly with Mark Walter and Hansjorg Wyss. Clearlake believe that after a period of upheaval they now have the right structure and squad in place to take the club back to the top.
Chelsea’s ownership structure means that all key decisions have had to be signed off by all the owners, including Boehly.”

We've had the Russian, we've had the Americans. I'd like to see a Columbian drug cartel have a crack at the job. Maybe we could get some Chinese investors next time and to be fair the Arab owners always look after the clubs theyre in charge of.

“Key Differences between player recruitment, wage structures etc about running the club has caused divide Boehly and Eghbali have differing ideas. What we are seeing now is closer to how Eghbali wants the Club Run #CFC“

Seems this transfer madness comes from Eghbali, not Bohley.
Elvis Costello sings "Two little Hitlers will fight it out until, One little Hitler does the other one's will"

The issue I have is that it’s all one mass distraction and they’re running the finances so close to the line, that it will only take one bad deal to finish us off in terms of PSR

Remember that Clearlake saying they dont want to sell is just strengthening their position to get more money. They will sell if the price is right.

And Todd will sell at the right price. This will go on and on behind the scenes for the rest of the season. Just adding to the mess the club is already in.

Based on all of the information coming out, I'm solidly on Team Todd. He is completely at odds with Beghali's interference (everything routes through him) and idea of "player trading" which got us into these messes in the first place (David Datro Fofano now having nowhere to play until January because we lack the infrastructure to service so many players needs is just one example).

If Todd offers 2.5b to Clearlake to buy them out, I don't see how the Clearlake board says no. That's a massive return on an investment that hasn't increased in value by much. Boehly's approach in the US (LA Dodgers) is to balance a young/promising squad with diamond studs. This is not what Chelsea looks like at all right now and is a clear dividing line between his approach and Eggman, who only wants to keep the wage bill down.

The club is a shit show.

Who knows the truth of all this skullduggery, but I agree that from the (admittedly biased and intentionally leaked) information out there, Todd's vision is the one I'd prefer.

Which means he'll definitely capitulate first and we'll get Clearlake in full control (but only after a massively distracting and protracted circus)

I am not ready to believe all of what Todd says, he is good at PR, but he apparently wanted to keep Chalaboh, Conor, others and pooch, pooch not my guy but he had the team on form the last third of season, letting it run a bit was what I expected and probably better than rebuilding yet again with an unproven manager but the key point is the Doo'Fs, who are near never right about anything, are all in on clown-lake and vice-versa, so I am all in on clown-lake out.

And in other news our esteemed Captain has been banned from driving for 6 months and racked up @ 4k quid in fines on 3 speeding charges, failure to cooperate and missing court. (TBF if I had a super car in the UK I would need a fulltime barrister and half my salary in a debit on demand account to the po-po)

    Conor scores for Atletico.

But he could not fit into our genius of a new "system."

yep and 2nd highest rated player for match after Griezmann, doing well in tackles, duels won and passes into the final third, we surely could not fit that into the system.

And, first start, first motm award.
