roman mulls over alaves deal interesting article, and 100% legal apparently, once both clubs can't meet each other in direct competion. even though it's only speculation,i'm not quite sure what i make of it,lol any thought's anyone?
Another feeder club for Chelsea? Fine with me, I guess. I can't imagine too much of his money is going to go to Alaves, even if the story is real.
or could it be the retirement/off loader club, for the likes of petit and stanic, lol i know he's got more money than sense, but buying alaves, unless it's in some part of a tax dodge just does'nt make much business sense...
Nah - I think Alaves is in the Basque region. If he were to buy Alicante...... I don't think buying Chelsea and then spending millions on players made that much business sense. Not that I'm complaining
here-here,lol only thing about us though is,at least he can make some of his coin back from merchandiseing.the sale of duff shirts alone colud probably just about cover the price of alaves
We are talking about a guy who was born poor/middle class and is now the richest man in the UK. I think the guy has reasonable business sense.
Really? I don't think you know too much about making money in Russia. I wouldn't say that "business sense" is the determining factor... Yours truly, Don Corleone
like who you know not what you know, like the president...... and other dodgey russian businessmen..... you know qazwsx,i never said roman does'nt have any business sense,i said buying alaves doesnt make much business sense.....
While feeder clubs are in principal a good idea, I think this move is a bit too far off the deep end. Alaves is a very well respected Spanish club, and I think Roman's buying them would create more tension than most foresee. And the bit about them not being able to play in Europe with Chelsea bothers me. What if Alaves were to win the Copa del Rey and earn a UEFA cup place, wouldn't it be a bit harsh to the fans to deny them another shot at the trophy they so nearly won but three years ago?? If Roman wants to buy some Eastern European club to use as a feeder, I'd be all for it, because it would do them a world of good as well. Countries such as Romania frequently produce world-class players, and owning a club there would give us the inside track at signing them.
