C(ass)ano (fitness) and Panucci (discipline) will not be available for this match. D'Agostino is back, but Pelizzoli and Chivu are still out with injury. Sartor will replace Panucci. What's up with Dellas? Palermo also have key injuries, most recent being Zauli.

Even though they are coming off a loss to Lecce (2-0), this will be a tough one. We need to win at home to belong in the Big 4. Del Nerri going with his beloved 4-4-2 with Totti and Montella up front.

Live on GolTV today, 9:00 a.m. eastern.

phishy! great to see you on another board. I'm watching the match too. I don't know what more impressive, hitting boths bars or scoring? I must say AS Roma supporters are some of the loudest/most passionate footie fans that I have seen in Italy and in Europe.

Totti brings AS Roma level with his PK.....1-1

Mancini! Stop diving, you tosser! Is it my imagination or does AS Roma tend to live for the Free Kick/PK? They seem to do an awful lot of falling down. Maybe it's just a coincedence? Any thoughts.

AS Roma blew a real chance at getting all 3 pts! Way too many blown chances and sloppy passes.

Our side controled both halves, but did not finish on several chances. I don't know how Totti's free-kick at the end of the first half doesn't go in, and I don't understand why Montella is subbed with Aquilina. I do know that Mancini and Mido were merda today, Pelizzoli is a far superior portieri than Zotti, and the 4-4-2 helps us play better defense. We have been improving each match and this afternoon was no different. When D'Agostino, Panucci, Chivu and C(ass)ano are back, I like this team to challenge for another CL birth. Del Nerri is bringing back some order to the chaos.

If you want to see scoring and little else in terms of defense and goalkeeping, then yes. Though Roma has not been a very good example of Italian football this season.

WHY TAKE OFF MONTELLA???? geez... if totti doesnt do it, it simply doesnt get done..
a pathetic draw vs palermo (ya i know they have takin road points at some tough venues)...
MIDO TAKING THAT HEADER WHEN TOTTI COULD OF EASILY VOLLEYED IT IN.. UGH!!
the frustration of francesco face was mind numbing....

On the plus side Roma did not leak goals today. Mexes looked very good. (Although they need to get someone other than Cufre to handle the trow ins. Every time he threw the ball to Palermo.) My main concern is that Roma are not moving the ball well. The midfielders did an excellent job defending today but, as I just said, they weren't moving the ball. Dacourt and De Rossi were non-factors as far as moving the ball up the field. And Mancini's crosses were horrific today. I know he can and will do better but Roma need a midfield general who can move the ball to Totti, Montella, or Mido. I'm thinking about a player like Ronaldhino, Gerrard, Lampard, or Kaka. (I use the word "like" because I know Roma will not land any of those three players.) I think De Rossi could be that guy but he needs to take control a bit more. Maybe this is a hard thing to do when Totti is seen as the main dude more generally.

On another note, I'm glad Mido was given a shot even if he didn't play well. At some point Roma are going to need another striker to step up because I don't think Montella will stay healthy for the full season. And C(ass)ano and Totti are not pure strikers. Take care.

I just watched the tape and I can't figure out how Totti's free kick did not go in.

Yes, the defense did do better, except for the Palermo goal where the wall simply dissolved. I echo the question on where was Dellas. Some odd substitutions - Perrotta & Montella were doing fine. Why take them out? I'm trying to be patient with Mido, but he seems to me just another Carew. As for Mancini, it's true his crosses weren't arriving, but other than Totti he's the only other guy who seemed able to move the ball upfield. He's still real young and has to overcome the Brazilian disease ( i.e., I want the ball all the time) but as with most Brazilians who come to play in Europe that occurs with time. (Nothing against Brazilian futebol - I happen to adore it.) But with nobody else other than Totti willing to move the ball up, I think that at certain points he felt he had to take it further than he should have.

I have to admit that Thursday's match doesn't look good, unless the offense revs up and the defense plays at least as well as today.

Palermo is a good club, with a solid defense and midfield. If they learn to score goals, they will be a force.

Great points everyone. Mancini stunk up the Olympico. Mido was awful. He cost our Captain his second goal of the match with that hack of a header attempt. D'Agostino is due back soon and he should provide needed help in the midfield moving the ball forward. Chivu will only help the improving defense. Cufre shrank from the ball on the free kick and gave Zotti no chance. De Rossi appeared uninspired today. Hopefully he'll have a full tank on Thursday. Totti could not will the lads to 3 points today no matter how hard he tried. Alas, do not despair Romanisti. Help is on the way and we shall finish in top 4 this season.

Mido another Carew? Carew is tearing it up with the Norway national team. Roma would be better off if they had someone in his form.

Just comparing to Carew as he played for Roma last year. He had a few goals, but generally just took up space. Maybe, he's doing better for Norway, but playing great against Moldova, Bielorussia and other powerhouses like that doesn't impress me much.

Hopefully Montella's current form will stick and Mido can step up. It would be nice to have a pure striker scoring a ton of goals, in addition to Totti and Cassano.

On a completely unrelated note, I just finished watching the Chelsea-Blackburn match. I know that Blackburn's defense is horrific on a good day, but Robben looked Zidane-like; he moved at will along the left side and into the box. Damn I wish Roma had signed him. I don't know what he cost Chelsea but I wish Roma had been in the mix.
