We're riding a 4-match unbeaten streak and will extend it to 5 against Messina. They won their first match of the year last week against Lecce with D'Agostino scoring twice. Chivu sits this one out because of his red card against Ascoli, but Il Capitano returns to the pitch! We need this win to maintain our momentum going into the Juvemerda match in two weeks. I just hope the lads don't look past Messina. I'm trying not to, but my utter disgust of Juvemerda makes it difficult. Regardless, Roma 3-2 Messina.
I see Roma comfortably winning this one. Most people don't remember D'Agostino was a Roma player during the Capello era, but he never utilized him. Montella and Totti will have goals. 3-1 to Roma. And when you find yourself thinking about Juventus, think about this to calm you down:
I know this is like said every game this season, but REALLY for me. THIS GAME WILL PROVE IF WE HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR SOMETHING MORE ACCEPTABLE THIS YEAR.
Wut is that video of Totti ... wut is he saying ??? lol And I hope our momentum continues and we keep playing great and win this match ... no matter how we do it , JUST WIN !!!
That was from Roma-Juventus of the 2003/2004 season. Roma was smacking Juve 4-0 and late in the game Tudor started complaining about something, so Totti said, "Shut up, We've scored 4 goals, stop it"...Classic Francesco Totti...
Man I haven't been in this board in a long time... f'n work... Yup... I also seeing us winning this one... 2-0 if not 3-0. Forza Roma!!!!
Two demi-semi interesting notes on Goal.com now: 1. Kuffour and Montella almost had a fight in training, after a rough tackle annoyed Vinny. Cassano broke up the fight (!); 2. Tomassi has defended Cassano publicly and claims he's training well. Hardly big news. The kind of stuff every team deals with, but I guess I take from it that as a team we're still a bit fragile, there's still tension .............
Hmm...this article says that Cassano may be utilized this weekend against Messina. It also says that Bruno Conti met with Peter Pan today to try and convince him to accept Roma's offer, but to no avail... http://www.goal.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=98466&progr=0
Spalletti shuts out Cassano.....but it's really Sensi that has frozen him out. http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/nov5f.html
This is borderline illegal. And it's so perverse and stubborn as to very likely bite us in the a**. Think of it this way. Cassano wants to leave, and we want to get some value for him. Do they really think that freezing him out of the squad will increase his value, not to mention the immense harm it will do to our offense? Mexes and Panucci won't score goals every game, after all. The way the club has handled this situation is immature and unprofessional, bottom line. Sadly, it's totally in keeping with the bad business we've conducted for a long time now--viz. Mido, loaning out Bovo, buying Ferrari, losing Capello/ Emerson, that disaster with Mexes, etc. Christ. Other clubs don't even have to outwit us. We do the job ourselves.
Stupid Rosella Sensi is ruining the Mondiale for Italy!!! Hopefully now Cassano gets desperate and signs the damn contract, or some court orders Roma to let him play!
Correction to my earlier post: Mexes and Panucci apparently can do all the goal-scoring for us!! It's 1-0 at the half. Mexes tapped in a headed cross from Panucci.
Golazzo on the second goal by Totti. He is in outstanding form. But the Roma forwards really need to start scoring, the defenders can't score every game. (But by the looks of it, they are!)
