Roma kicks off a new season in just days!

I predict a 2-0 Roma win. Vucinic and De Rossi the goal scorers.

I wish Verizon would get their collective sh*t together and add Fox Soccer Channel HD.

If we come out with the same intensity that we showed in the first half against Inter, then we should be just fine. Of course, we are also notorious for coming out a little flat against the weaker teams. Especially early on in the season. Hopefully that won't be the case this weekend though.

There were rumors that Totti could potentially miss out on this match due to a knock that he picked up to his ankle in the Super Coppa match against Inter, but apparently things are looking good that he'll be ready to go for this weekend.

It will also be on RAI in America.

Hopefully Taddei will be playing in the match.

    For Cesena :D

Apparently Adriano picked up a bit of a muscular strain in training today, and may miss the match as a result (not that he would've started anyways...).

Good news is that Totti, Pizarro, and Sergio are all very likely to be good to go :)

Any predictions for the starting 11? Here's mine:

    Totti
    Vucinic---------Menez
    Perrotta
    Pizarro------De Rossi
    Riise-----Juan----Mexes-----Cassetti
    Sergio/Doni

Jury is still out on whether or not Sergio will be good to go in time. If not, it's pretty much a given that goofy will be given the nod, as he can't possibly do any worse than Lobont did against Inter...

Thanks God J.Sergio has recovered for the match and he is in the starting XI...

As fot subs (I hope we won't need to reinforce within the game): Okaka, Taddei, Simplicio, Rosi, G.Burdisso and Lobont (hope J.Sergio wasn't rushed in and will remain healthy)

We played much much better against Inter...There seems to be less understanding between the players today, and I think it might have to do with underestimation of the opponent...
Second half will be completely different - they'll get a few "shouts" from Claudio and will definitely score in the first 10 minutes, and then life will become easier

We are step too slow for every pass, of the ball running, and pretty much every execution. Oh my Ranieri, why did he put Taddei for Menez is beyond me. Perrotta and De Rossi are playing like crap, but he takes Menez off........

That's a blatant attempt to play for the DRAW. Why else would you pull one of your most dangerous attacking players in favour of a more defensive minded midfielder like Taddei when the game is tied 0-0? Ranieri is notorious for at times being overly conservative.

Amazing chance for brighi off of some beautiful one touch footy between him and Vuci. Unforuntately the Cesena keeper was equal to it.

Anyways, this is pretty much your typical Roma performance against a low-table opponent. We ALWAYS under-achieve against teams we should easily be putting away, and that's more or less what cost us the scudetto last season as well.

Yeah, frustrating stuff as usual. This is when a battering ram like Toni could've been very very useful.

This is first game of the season, usually teams play motivated.
How did we play? zero motivations.
This generations of roma players are over. perrotta, taddei, cassetti and all should go.
A rich owner is what we need. My aim this season is hear the news a rich owner bought us.

I want to also comment on Vucinic. This guy is one hell of a selfish being.Last year vs sampdoria he was selfish and fought with perrotta.Today he could have put the ball to totti and totti score. But instead he tried to head the ball into the goal and claimed he didnt see totti who was just infront of him???

I feel sorry for totti. At 33 years of age, he doesnt deserve this garbage players around him.
