75,000 last for last night's Champs League match. Just reminds us what wonderful things ChampionsWorld and NJSEA could do for MLS if the league would just ask... :) I mean, really, what's the difference between those teams and the MetroStars?? :)

If by plastic turf you mean half uneven wannabe grass and half dirt.

No, I mean the "Field Turf" plastic stuff that the NJSEA is considering installing next year.

I know real grass is always preferred, and giant logos on the field suck, and we've been through all this before, but FieldTurf is FIFA approved and is used for many soccer specific facilities (George Washington University's new soccer field for example, the renovated Met Oval in NY, training pitches in Europe...). I'd rather see real grass, but maybe even field turf would be better than the poor excuse of a pitch at Giants Stadium a week ago.

Specific installations of Field Turf are approved if monitored and tested by FIFA.

Field Turf is not blanket approved. Nor is any other artificial grass blanket approved by FIFA for use in FIFA sanctioned events.
