realistically i would say 4th. hopefully with some magic we can finish 2nd or 3rd because inter and ACM aren't really doing so well right now. but those 2 clubs have the money and they can always buy better players in january to make up for the points they lost during the fall. napoli without lavezzi is a big loss so i think it'll be between us and them fighting for 3rd. napoli's 1st team hasn't really changed much so they'll have the advantage of team chemistry over us

i don't fancy udinese this year but they'll achieve a respectable position as usual. fiorentina will also be a dark horse

can't remember the last time Milan and Inter were both in such bad shape. we really should capitalize this season before they recuperate. keeping them out of CL will put them more in debt and will open up the league competitiveness a little more

Voted an optimistic 4th, we will be an entertaining team but zeman is type of manager who believes in outscoring your oponnent to win.I personally think defence and keepin cleensheet is the winning way.

If we get Rolando or a CB that can have a superhero-esqe season, then I think 3rd is very possible. Otherwise it will be a Europe kind of season.

Voted 4th. Really, I just want to get back into Europe. Obviously, CL is preferred, but EL is better than no Europe.

the difference between CL revenue and EL revenue is huge though, especially when it comes to TV rights and brand rights

I think Roma will get third. We were close last season - we really were. We just kept dropping points late to weaker teams. I think that our attacking style and our athleticism will overwhelm the lesser teams. And it is by securing points against the Pescaras and Sienas that we will get our spot.

i also voted third. i think on paper at least, this team should be able to challenge for third. i think Juve and Inter are clearly 1 and 2. Milan are considerably weaker and i see them struggling to finish top 5. I see a three way fight between Roma, Napoli, Fiorentina, and Udinese fighting for the 3rd CL spot, With Napoli being the favorite. If i had to guess the table based on the teams on paper, i would go:

    1. Juve
    2. Inter
    3. Roma
    4. Napoli
    5. Milan
    6. Fiorentina
    7. Udinese
    8. Lazio

This is kind of how I see things playing out. I don't think Inter will be as good on the field as they look on paper. The team just isn't very cohesive, and Sneijder has been injured/off form for them a lot. Udinese will surprise everybody (as they do every year, so then why is it a surprise?) and be quite strong. Lavezzi is a big loss for Napoli, but they've held onto Cavani thus far, and the rest of the squad has been pretty stable. With Mazzari's style/formula, they'll still be strong, though I think they'll miss Lavezzi and not be quite as deadly proficient on the counter. Milan currently is just incredibly lacking, though we'll see what they pull off in the last days of the market. They'll still be good, but certainly not such a force as they have been in the past. Fiorentina has definitely improved their squad on paper, and will certainly be competitive week in/week out. I've not seen any football from them this pre-season, so I'm not sure how the new players + Montella are working together.

    1. Juve
    2. Udinese
    3. Roma
    4. Inter
    5. Napoli
    6. Milan
    7. Fiorentina

Totally optimistic, I guess 2nd is achievable for us this year, but I'm not sure we're quite that good yet. 3-5 should be where we land. I think 3-6 will be within 5-6 points of each other. Should be an exciting season.

inter's clearly not a clear 2 lol. the only world class player they have left is sneijder. and even he's injury prone and off form. everyone else for inter is on the decline

the only way they could even possibly get 2 or 3 is if everyone else in serie A is off form (roma, napoli, etc)

I don't know about Inter. Going forward we are probably better, but they are building a pretty strong back line and now have some options going forward. If they pick up another creative speedy player like Gaston Ramirez I think they could compete with Juve this season. Right now they are lacking some flair in the midfield, and if Wes doesn't produce their strikers will basically be abandoned.

They are greatly improved. they have brought in Handanovic, Silvestre, Guarin, Mudingayi, Gargano, Cassano, Palacio, and now just bought Alvaro Pereira from Porto.

On top of that you add to the quality they already have in Sneijder, Milito, Zanetti, Maicon, and Cambiasso. My only question about them is their manager. They have a rejuvenated squad with Serie A experience and only really lack in attack. to me, on paper, they are clearly the number 2 team in italy atm.

I don't like predicting where we will finish, but I look at like this, I figure we may not be better than Rube, Inter, Napoli and possibly Milan. I see us somewhere just above Fiorentina and Udine, and better than Genoa, Palermo, Parma and Nazio.

So I guess in a way I would say 5th is realistic, 4th if Milan completely crashes out. With the possibility of us playing well and jumping to as high as 3rd. (I feel the scudetto may be out of our reach this season) But as well we could play poorer than expected and slip behind Fiorentina and Udine pushing us as far down as 7th.

So my vote goes to 5th, but I think we should be challenging for 3rd. Hopefully we get some luck and maybe we get an extra player in the next few days and my opinion complete changes.

Also I must say with all the variables we have going into the season it's really hard to have any set expectations. I have no idea how good Castan will be, or Dodo, Tachsidis and Bradley. What if Stek really leaves and we end up with an unknown 24 year old. I don't really have any expectations, I'm more just excited by everything that has happened this summer and just want to watch and see what happens. We have a young team with tons of potential, so I'm not too concerned about standings this season, I'm writing this one off and just going to enjoy the ride. Too many unknowns at this point anyways, so don't hold me to anything.

lacking in attack means they're just going to draw every game. 1 W 1 L is better than 2 draws. see liverpool for the past few years

they may lack but they are better than most Italian teams. if a Milito -Cassano/Palacio partnership with sneijder behind them can gel, they can actually be quite deadly.

for a team that was undefeated, they cut it a bit close to milan. milan were only 1 point behind at matchday35 or 36 i think
