Well, we do have Totti and Cassano, and they have Materazzi,
so I think we can hope against hope.

Not sure how you mean that. In Totti's absence Cassano was
the one who played well; Montella has been quiet. The goals
have not come from him lately (though he had a great half
    of the season).

According to the Gazzetta, Montella is warming up now.
The 'cronaca' writer also editorializes that Ferrari is only
still in the game because Collina has been charitable enough
    to not red card him.

Anyone have comments on the 2nd half?

there was a goal that looked like it was correctly disallowed for offside on Montella who put the ball in the net. There is a picture of it on the Inter site but video would be better to see the actual moment of the ball's release. Looks like Mancini has left the game due to an injury.

Man Montella is causing all kinds of problems sinsce he has come on.

It seems like Roma have been more attacking lately. Montella had a goal called back for offsides and Cassano had a shot saved. Roma can still come back but time is running out.

Excellent win, Roma as always put the pressure on in the 2nd half but imo i think Inter let them come at them in hopes they would make more mistakes at the back. Thank god the partnership of Miha and Matterazzi did not leak any goals. See you guys at the San Siro against a much depleted Inter side becuase of the Confederations Cup.

2-0 loss. I'm very dissappointed with the result, not just because it's a home loss but Roma created so many chances but came away with nothing.

Roma should've atleast had one goal. Totti really impressed me. He played an influential role, like a captain should, by winning balls and creating chances. It's going to be hard for them to score in Milan, but it should be a good game.

What a wonderful atmosphere in the Olympic Stadium for this match. If I'm not mistaken, it was sold out! The crowd was amazing, at least in the first half before Adriano's two goals. It's so strange that nobody in Italy seems to care one whit about the Coppa Italia until it looks like their team has a good chance of winning it. I expect a similar atmosphere in Milan tomorrow.

Today's the big match. I don't think Totti, besides the Scudetto, has actually ever won silverware with Roma. Today he be actually holding up a cup. But Roma need to play strong, smart, and play with creativity. As you saw in the first leg, when Totti and Cassano connect with each other, they are nearly unstoppable. I expect Conti to got with a Totti-Cassano-Montella trident today. Plus they get De Rossi back from suspension.

Do you know, by the way, that Cassano has the highest number of
goals scored for any Italian number 10 before the age of 23? His
43 goals place him above Rivera, Baggio (tho. Roby had a slow start
due to his knee injury), Totti, Del Piero, and Mancini at the same stage
    of their respective careers.

It's exciting to think what he'll do in the next years, when his skills
    are really refined.

And yes, this is a big day! It seems a mission impossible, but I pray
we can score two in regulation time to bring this to extra time or
to pks. I would love to see Totti lifting another trophy.

Interesting. Maybe by the end of his career he'll have 200+ goals. I know you meant Number 10 type players, but I think Gilardino has more. He's under 23 and just scored 23 and 24 goals in two consecutive seasons. That makes 47, plus he scored 12 goals from his seasons with Piacenza, Verona, and his first season at Parma. So he has 59 goals in Serie A, already halfway to 100. What a player!

    But Gila's a #9 . . .

The analysis, above, I took from the Gazzetta. They have Cassano
ahead of the pack by 2 goals (I think Del Piero was closest at that
stage of his career--Baggio would have been ahead but at 18 he
    had that horrific knee injury).

If healthy, Gila will indeed score 200++ goals in Serie A but for a
center-forward it's not as 'speciale'. We are dealing with the Italian
bias in favor of fantasy/ skill players here. :D

It's over. We need 3 goals in such a short space of time.
    I can't believe we couldn't get even a consolation. :(

Totti and Cassano looked really mad at the end. This is Inter's first Coppa Italia since 1982. Roma just lacked heart. They really couldn't get anything going and really didn't even make Toldo break a sweat.
