Wow, what a show!! I know at least three other BigSoccer posters went to the show last night. In-freaking-credible. Basically, Henry and company are doing a tour to support the "West Memphis Three" and did a show last night in DC. First up, Keith Morris came out and did a handful of songs. His "Gimme Gimme Gimme" was great. Had me pogoing like it was 1982 or something. Then Rollins came out and performed like a man possessed. The perfomed just about every song from Damaged, plus My War, and at one point they brought Neil Fallon from Clutch to perform American Waste. At first you think "this guy looks like a stockbroker," then you hear him sing. Amazing. I thought for sure the vein in his forehead was going to burst. Highlight of the show - when Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat, Teen Idles) came out and performed Rise Above as a duet with Henry. My voice is gone from singing (screaming?) along. What a show. It was cool to think that this music STILL FeCKING ROCKS even after more than 20 years!!!
There's an album as well called "Rise Above: 24 Black Flag Songs to Benefit the West Memphis Three." Chuck D duets with Rollins on Rise Above on it. I enjoyed the couple songs I've heard off of it. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...5514771/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_3/002-8971072-0936049
