Bob Costas interviewed that corrupt, pandering liar Jacques Rogge and asked about Softball and Baseball. He commented that softball was too successful for only one team and that contributed to it's elimination as an Olympic sport. He also stated that Major League Baseball's refusal to allow it's stars to play along with the steroid controversy hurt both sports. Sounds like a total nonsense that softball suffered from association with baseball.

The conversation continued to the two sports that would replace baseball and softball. These include golf, rugby, squash, and roller blading. They have got to be joking that they would even consider this as a potential Olympic sport. Can we get rid of those holdovers from the old Soviet block, namely rythmic gymnastics and the newer trampoline. Also, lets get rid of the X game sports too. Keep them in the winter games since they have far fewer sports.

In Softball's case, have the US dominate for so long did hurt the chances of the sport progressing. The issue with baseball is that MLB constantly interferes in the even apart from not letting the best participate (for obvious reasons).

The big knock against both of them is the cost to build facilities, especially given how little they would be used once the Games ended.

The roller blading they might be referring to would be the inline racing that is seen at the Pan-American Games. Basically it would be speed skating on inline than blades. It would certainly gain support from Latin American countries and those that are established in the speed skating world.

You aren't going to get rid of trampoline or rythmic gymnastics since they don't cost anything in terms of facilities and the European dominance on the governing boards.
