Let's figure out who all is going and who will be where. I've been talking to Ed Bazan and there are supposedly quite a few rookies in the Sam's Army section. Anybody have ideas for songs/chants for this match? How about American the Beautiful at kickoff...didn't we try that a few years back?

Who's going to be at the tailgate. Let's check in.

I'll be there when the lot opens and will be standing with Sam's Army.

Is everybody planning on going to the tailgate?

I know there are quite a few differences in philosophies and debates about Sam's Army, but at this match, I think all the US fans need to band together. We need to make a presence as one, regardless.

    Everybody wear red.

is there any special policy about hanging up a banner, i was just going go in early and tape it up in a highly visual spot. do i have to talk some stadium official or something?

    I'm not really sure.

www.houstontexans.com would be the place to go and get info...i'm sure there's a hotline to call.

I'll be there, but not sitting with sams army. I'll try and be at the tailgate if the shuttle gets there in time.

Officially, hanging any banners from any part of the stadium will not be allowed (it is specifically banned for Texans games), according to what they told me about 2 weeks ago. You can always try--maybe they'll give a little more leeway for an event like this.

I'll be there and should be plenty early enough for the tailgate. A friend is driving over from Austin to meet me and get his first cap.

I saw a note that flags without poles will be allowed in for this game (I guess someone told them they were going to lose that battle) - I don't know about banners. I would contact them today. Some stadiums will let you bring in banners - if they know about them in advance. There may be some concerns as to where they hang - as in, don't cover up the paid advertising.

Anyone else interested in catching the first half the Pirates/Astros game? It starts at 1:05pm. I figure and hour to two hours of baseball, and we should get to the tailgate in good time?

    I'll be there

We are going to try to make the tailgate, but we are going to go to Two Rows first. Its a microbrew and restaurant on University in West U. We'll be there around 4:45 hopefully.

I will be there with two friends from Austin and one gringo from Mexico City (yes, he has pledged to wear red). We are all veterans of the '97 qualifier at Azteca.

We'll be at the blue lot around 4, standing with Sam's Army during the game, then probably drinking beer somewhere in Rice Village.

    I'll be there!!

I'm going to the game with some of my buddies tomorrow! It's going to be my first USMNT game so I'm super pumped!! Plus I get to miss a day of school (since I'm still in high school). I have no clue where our seats are but I wouldn't be surprised if its in the middle of a bunch of Mexican fans because I know that the four guys I'm going with will be rooting for Mexico. I'll definitely be sporting my red US jersey though! I just hope the US doesn't lose because it will be a long drive back home (it takes about 4-5 hours to get from Houston to Corpus Christi) with a bunch of Mexican fans. Go USA!!!!!!!

Bravo to some great fans and hosts in H-town. I'm sure there will be some more games there in the future.

    Nice meeting y'all.
