With Baseball being rocked by the Steriods era and the NFL looking like it might not stear clear of the SPYGATE - now the Pats had films of the rams before one of the super bowls -

How do you think this will effect the MLS - do you think disgruntled Baseball fans will turn to the MLS during the summer months?

Will the NFL take a hit?

The NHL is still recovering from two strikes in the past decade and a half and the NBA has poor quality

IS THIS THE TIME FOR THE MLS????

Just want to hear everyones thoughts!

Its funny I was thinking about this awhile back(also add that a number of players have been arrested for various things in many of the major sports). The NBA has its problems too. If the MLS were smart they would def capitalize on this by presenting players in the MLS who would be great role models for children. This would certainly have to start with Beckam. No matter what you think about him(I like him alot)he does so much for charity. The MLS has to strike at any point of weakness they can find in the other major sports.

I think the imact on the US fan will be negligible. Internationally, it will cause lots of problems. Its hard to sell a sport to someone, if all they know about it is that it is a complicated game played by drug abusing cheaters.

People will never turn away from football and baseball.
No matter what happens, MLS will struggle for awhile coming
anywhere near the numbers that currently watch American sports.
Though I am a Mets fan, Baseball and Football always take a backseat to soccer and wish more americans felt that way about the beautiful game.
