Looks as though the barcodes really are lining up fat Sam for the job:

It's just all a bit too timely.

I predicted at the start of the season that Newcastle would go down because of the '7th then down' thing that Roeder seems to do. They may not be going down but he still only got them 42 points in his second season. The same as with us...

Really they are only one win from being in the scrap so he's definitely cut it fine.

I don't think all NUFC fans will be that happy at having fat Sam as boss, if he does get the job. He's an expert at playing spoiling tactics so they will have boring football to watch for the next few years at least. Still, he may bring them a cup or two.

Surprised he didn't earlier. Glen just isn't cut out for the managers position, not forcefull enough, I'm surprised Newcastle don't put in Shearer as manager.

Shearer hasn't got that qualification that managers need nowadays. So NUFC fans may have no choice but to settle for fat Sam through lack of choice.

Apparently many of the fans have, quite rightly, expressed a concern that Sam is a long ball style of manager. Whilst he may not have made Bolton into a long ball only team they are definitely route one and play spoiling tactics as good as anyone in the league.

So this may make Sam himself think twice about taking the job if it's offered, as he may be forced to change his methods a bit to appease the fans.

Good old fat sam, will he or won't he. Although Shearer doesn't have the qualifications there's a certain aura surrounds him that makes players listen, Teddy has it also. Could be good for a couple of seasons, it's the energy and commitment players need from their coaches/manager because after they've counted all their cash and bought their sports cars it's all they have left.
On that note I wish they would have sensible wage caps , seeing someone earn a game what most earn in a year is disheartening.
