I'm against playing guys who don't even make the bench at their clubs. Lukaku should not feature for the NT until he plays every week for Chelsea or another team if he gets loaned out.

Lukaku has also shown - numerous times I might add - that he does not understand how to play the CF role in a 4-3-3. Do not want.

Not much difference with my ideal team considering Vermaelen & Kompany are injured and Lukaku doesn't play much... and what did I tell you, Hazard attacking mid and Witsel back to his natural position.

    ---------------------Courtois------------------------
    Odoi------Kompany--Vertonghen----Vermaelen
    ----------------Fellaini--Witsel-----------------
    --------------------Hazard---------------------
    Mirallas-----------Lukaku-----------Mertens

Don't see what argument you can give for starting Lukaku over De Camargo?

Even with his injury problems, Igor still played 30 games for the team that finished 4th in the Bundesliga. He's also a lot better at playing in a 4-3-3 than Romelu. Lukaku for his part has barely featured at all in Chelsea's first team.

Just watched Wilmots and the team on Sporza
You have to love Wilmots honesty and enthusiasm, perhaps he is the magic that will get the best out of this group. My head says we need Gerets or PrudHomme, but my heart is just fine with Marc Wilmots
I loved him as a player and I hope this will be the beginning to great things for Belgian football

The problem with Wilmots was never the fact that he would not get the respect from the players and the fans. He's one of the few figures in Belgian football who is loved as much at both sides of the linguistic border. My questions about appointing him as head coach is his lack of experience and the questions that are unanswered about his tactical nous.

Lets give him the chance to prove himself as a coach since we don't have any other options.

People will focus on the two goals we conceded, but I'm actually a lot more worried about the continued wastefulness in front of goal. We did not create too many real chances today, but we did get in a lot of good areas, where the chance to create danger was than wasted time and time again by people taking the wrong decision.

You need to be ruthlessly efficient in front of goal in international football. A trait we lack.

I'm also beginning to wonder if we should give up the notion of playing with real fullbacks and instead just field a 3-4-3

    ------------------------Courtois----------------------
    -------Kompany---Vertonghen----Vermaelen----
    --------------------Defour----Fellaini---------------
    ---------Witsel----------------------------------------
    ----------------------------Hazard--------------------
    ---Mirallas---------Benteke----------Mertens------

Yes we are wasteful in front of goal but what worries me the most is our poor defense. We have top notch defenders yet we have been conceding silly goals for years now. and it still doesn't seem to end. You get the feeling every counterattack is going to be a goal.

Wilmots & Kompany have called up all defenders for a "talk". Well I don't know its gonna help but atleast they realise they have to do something about it.

I think it would help already if they settled on a four-man unit that will always play when they are healthy. After two years under Leekens, this group still doesn't have a first-choice defense. That is at least part of the problem.

What about Sonck? Has he retired? He was an excellent goal scorer for belgium in international matches. I mean if age is not a case, since it seems we don't have any world class striker right now.

Sonck is not even good enough for Lierse. and he's like 35 years old.

I'm not sure you have been following Belgian football lately :p

no worries mate. Sonck is not an option anymore. I think Vossen is our best finisher but he doesn't fit in a 4-3-3. Since we don't have a good striker I would try to do what Barcelona did when Villa got injured. They put Messi as a striker in a free role. I would do the same with Hazard and put De Bruyne behind him on the n10 position.

    We're not Barcelona. :D
I do agree that our CF tend to end up on an island... But Benteke looked more comfortable playing with Mirallas-Hazard-Mertens than De Camargo did.

Versus England I'd like to see this team:

    ------------------------Mignolet-------------------------
    Odoi-----Kompany------Vermaelen-----Vertonghen
    ---------------Fellaini----------Witsel------------------
    Mirallas---------------Hazard-----------------Mertens
    -------------------------Benteke-------------------------

Mirallas deserves another chance just courtesy of being our best player vs. Montenegro. I'm not ready to give up on our only real fullback after one poor defensive game either, so Odoi gets another chance. The rest of the team is pretty self-explanatory. Benteke gets the nod because he is the least crap of our CF options and he is apparently Hazard's best friend on the squad. :D

He doesn't play much at Mallorca. Besides he is not as talented as Lukaku/Benteke/Vossen.

Mignolet certain to start, Vermaelen looking good as well. Kompany day to day (will decide before the game), Alderweireld definitely out. No idea about the front six. I would assume Witsel, Hazard and Fellaini are starting again. I can see him bringing in Dembelé as well.

No "real" striker upfront. Let's hope that works, it would be a solution to atleast one of our problems.

oh and let us pray for Kompany will play tomorrow. Not looking forward to a Simons-Gillet on the right side of the defense.
