Going to try to attend the following matches, though its not unrealistic one of the FWC home games gets cut due to interference with work. The reason to play against Montenegro is a joke though And what the use is of playing against slovakia totally beats me. Perhaps finally learning to win matches where you start as the favorite?
Slovakia is a good team. They were at the world cup 2010 and beat Italy 3-2. They have good players like Hamsik, Kucka, Stoch, Skrtel, Weiss, ...
I wonder how this year will turn out. It's hard to imagine, but the next qualifier is only a little over 7 months away!
Blessing in disguise. Leekens goes. Once again I am saying that I have nothing against him, just that he was not made for this talented team. Now Belgium FA please get someone like Hiddinks, this is your chance to take this team to great heights!
^ this. Going to watch with great interest who it will be. There must be some talented Belgium coaches though?
Nah not really... only PreudHomme and Gerets but they are unavailable. Belgium needs a foreign coach badly.
Wilmots could be a good one? I think if it's a bit possible a head coach should come from the country itself. Foreign coaches don't speak Dutch and French very often and have very big salary's in many cases. If it has to be a foreign coach, here I have some fired coaches in the top leagues of Europe, as coaches do have to be available (though some have found a new job in the lists beneath): France: Spain: Germany: England: Italy: Portugal: Netherlands: Belgium: I saw Hiddink mentioned but he is earning millions and millions at Anzhi. He is not available. A coach not mentioned in the lists above is van Gaal. He would take it, but is IMO wrong NT material. He failed with Netherlands and wants to demonstrate how good his training methods are, rather than creating a good atmosphere and group cohesion. The only plus about him is that he would not walk away for more money like the two last coaches have done now. I would always ask Guardiola . I also see that Laudrup is free .... .
Laudrap will be a good choice cause he himself was a great talented player. He will be well respected in the team.
I have said this numerous times: we cannot afford a top coach. Advocaat made 600K. Even the likes of Co Adriaanse ask for 1 million. The most likely scenario is a nothing name like Hugo Broos or them promoting Wilmots to the n°1 spot.
Then whats the point of having good academies from where belgium is producing so many talented players.........I mean whats the ultimate goal!!!
Doelmannen: Thibaut Courtois (Atlético Madrid), Simon Mignolet (Sunderland), Jean-François Gillet (Bologna) Verdedigers: Toby Alderwereld (Ajax), Denis Odoi (Anderlecht), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal), Daniel Van Buyten (Bayern München), Jan Vertonghen (Ajax) en Nicolas Lombaerts (Zenit Sint-Petersburg) Middenvelders: Guillaume Gillet (Anderlecht), Timmy Simons (Nürnberg), Radja Nainggolan (Cagliari), Steven Defour (FC Porto), Marouane Fellaini (Everton), Axel Witsel (Benfica), Nacer Chadli (Twente) en Dries Mertens (PSV). Aanvallers: Moussa Dembele (Fulham), Eden Hazard (Lille), Igor De Camargo (Mönchengladbach), Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea), Kevin Mirallas (Olympiakos), Christian Benteke (Genk), Jelle Vossen (Genk) en Benji De Ceulaer (Lokeren).
Don't care who gets to play vs. Montenegro, but vs. England I want to see: ---------------------Courtois------------------------ Odoi------Vertonghen--Kompany----Lombaerts ------------------Fellaini------------------- ----------------------Dembelé--------------- -------Witsel--------------------------------- Hazard-----------Benteke-----------Mertens
Seriously you can't play Witsel that high up front anymore. ---------------------Courtois------------------------ Odoi------Kompany--Vertonghen----Vermaelen ----------------Fellaini--Witsel----------------- --------------------Hazard--------------------- Mirallas-----------Lukaku-----------Mertens
Mirallas won player of the year playing from the wing Lukaku impressed me very much in his last game... He is way better than Benteke imo
Witsel played his best games in support of an attacking midfielder (Aimar) Playing high up front has never worked for the NT. We need a more creative player for that position (Hazard, De Bruyne)
yes and on his 2 years at Anderlecht and also based on Benteke's games. I have seen him about 12 times this season. He was poor in all but one game. His first touch is dreadful, his passing is dreadful, his finishing is poor. He made a few goals but he missed countless sitters... I'm not a fan of him, he's a poor mans Lukaku and I don't even value Lukaku that high.
