Been dating a woman from Kerkrade for a year now. Love to learn more about Roda - headed there next year probably. Anyone on here able to fill me in on the club and their place in Dutch soccer?
Currently Roda’s Position is uncertain. They have financial troubles that are slowly improving, but it will take some time. The past five years they have finished 16, 10, 6, 9 , 16… Historically they are just ranked a couple spots below Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, but over recent years it has become much harder for them to finish on the first half of the table. The best year for them was probably 94-95 when they finished 2nd to Ajax. Over the past few years there has been some people outside the club who insist they should merge with other local teams (MVV and Fortuna Sittard), but thankfully that is off the table for now. They play in a decent modern stadium that holds roughly 20,000. I’m not sure what else to put at the moment, but I think if you come that you’ll like the area, the team and maybe even the weather (coming from seattle)
