If you think about it logically, Rochester is more likely to enter the league with Chivas in 2005. Why you ask, well there are plenty of reasons: 1. Ownership that is committed to the sport and the fans. 2. Established and proven market/fanbase. 3. Existing roster! (more important than you think) 4. SSS by 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On top of that: Does anyone really think that Wolstein will be able to build a SSS in Cleveland in the matter of 16 months? Oklahoma has a stadium which would be great, but its not that easy to find investors willing to buy into MLS especially in an unproven soccer market like Oklahoma City. Garber might not have mentioned the Rhinos, but there is no point in denying the fact that the A-League team would be the best expansion to go along with Chivas. Mark my words.
We'll see if it happens.... Rhinos won't go major league http://www.democratandchronicle.com/sports/rhinos/1124N12FD2N_rhinoweb24_rhinos.shtml No MLS for Rhinos http://www.rnews.com/Sports/TopSports.cfm?cmd=top&ID=14614&rnews_story_type=24&category=3
Well, no teams are coming into the league next year. 2005 is the earliest that teams are coming in, and those slots are going to Chivas and Cleveland. Rochester and OKC will be coming in '06. That will give Rochester some time to go to phase II of PaeTec Park to ready it for MLS.
Have Rochester and OKC been eliminated for 2005? I don't think so, they just haven't been confirmed yet.
