Any league that has the Charleston Battery can't be hurting that bad. Plus they still have those VA teams, Seattle, Portland, the Canadians, Minnesota,
and there's talk of at least one team coming in from FL.

Rochester would be missed, but they still have Syracuse.

I intend to call the team Rhinosaurus, when not simply Rochester. Just as Dallas is Dallas; save the Burn for the locals.

You guys need to understand that the Krafts own their own stadium. The cost for them is next to nothing to open it. It's extra cashflow minus costs. Anything is possible but I feel that this talk about New England being folded is just silly considering the kind of fan support that is in that market. 61,000 for a final and you think they want to fold it?!?! Think about it. :)

It would seem highly unlikely that the Revs would move to Rochester.

Why would the Krafts jump ship now when the league is on the verge of great things with new stadiums being built and investment interest from south of the border?

You realize that according to Yahoo Maps, Foxboro is about 3 hours and 43 minutes from East Rutherford, DC 3 hours 58 minutes, while Rochester is 5 hours 58 mintes.

That may be true, but geographic ignorance is pretty rampant.

Most people would not know that Oklahoma City is closer to Dallas than Houston is. So when Houston gets mentioned as an expansion candidate, some of those people haul off and write something dumb like "Why Houston? Doesn't Texas already have one team?"

Well maybe I'm speaking from a better geographic knowledge. My fault for giving the education system more credit than it deserves.

So what's the problem? Just gives everyone more time to drink on the bus!

Is Oneonta on the way? I'm geographically challenged on that. But it seems like that would be a great trip if you could go by Oneonta and see the Hall of Fame on the way.

Throw in Cleveland, and you have a boost of at least several hundred a game in the NE just from rabid Rhino fans. I'm sure that's part of the calculation.

Of course, that calculation only works if they can go back to their original larger capacity for the new stadium.

Not from Chicago. Oneonta's closer to Albany than Rochester.

If you were coming from Boston, it would be on your way, kind of.

I meant for the New Yorkers. That part of the discussion was about the New Yorkers making the trip to Rochester, even though it's farther away than Foxboro or DC.

The road going west to Oneonta, from the NYS Thruway is a very poor narrow and windy road. At least 50 miles I believe. Dangerous in bad weather. In other words, Oneonta is not off a superhighway.
