Didn't know if I should start a new thread on a possible Madrid transfer, but what the heck..... Anyhow, AS are reporting that Florentino Perez met w/ the agents of Robinho to discuss his possible transfer to Madrid. I haven't seen this kid play, although I know that he plays for the Brazilian team Santos, but I'm unclear as to what his "ideal" position on the field is. Does he play as a striker or a winger? Now, I think the Brazilian league ends next month, so AS are thinking that Madrid are either negotiating a transfer for June or when the winter transfer window opens up. I've read that Robinho was being tailed by other clubs like Chelsea, PSV, and Atletico Madrid, but I don't know much about him. Has anyone seen him play and if so, would he be a good signing for Madrid? I know he's young.....something like 20 years old, but do Madrid NEED this kid? Right now, AS are the only Spanish newspaper that are reporting this story (hell.....they even have photographs of the meeting). This could be nothing, but then again.....you never know.
right footed player who can play on either wing or as a striker. thin as a reed, 20 years old, very talented with the ball at his feet... could perez be thinking of him as a replacement for figo? because i can't imagine where else he fits in to the team right now.
robhino plays at both wings i think hes better than kaka in some way he dribbles just like pele and is faster than joaquin his main postion is right atacking wing and has one international for brazil he could play central foward + he make alot of goal, good at freekicks . he plays like ronaldhino even i think hes the new improved version of ronaldhino
Imagine Ronaldinho's skills on a 14 year olds body. ...seriously, that's this guy. He's amazing but really needs to bulk up to cut it in a major european league.
Robinho is a truly amazing young talent -- dribbling skills like you've never seen (I remember watching the move that really made him famous - 7 stepovers in a row; he is fouled in the box during the last stepover, he takes the PK and makes it, winning the championship. At age 18.), very, very fast, very, very good with both feet. He plays on either wing as an attacking outside mid, or can play as a withdrawn forward -- sort of like how Henry often plays with Arsenal. However, he dives a lot, and looks like he weighs literally about 90 pounds. He is like a Cristiano Ronaldo type player -- he could be even better than Ronaldo, but there are always potential problems when a player comes over from South America, especially when they go straight to a big club like Real. I think he is a brilliant player, but I think that Real should be careful before splashing out a lot of cash on him. Perhaps our best option would be to buy him, and then loan him out to Portugal or Dutch team to see what he's made of, etc. Again, he could eventually be one of the best players in the world, but it's too early to say. But if he did come, I would love it. Every so often, I think it's worth it for Perez to splash some cash on a bright young star just to see what happens. It worked with ManU and Ronaldo, it worked (sort of) with Inter and Adriano -- I hope Perez makes this signing, although I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. But I think that Joaquin, Mascherano, and an attacking CMid like D'Alessandro is more important.
robhino and ronaldhino play inthe same position one thing hes more skillful than any player i saw i played realmadrid team befor i moved barca i played against him with spain u 14 i had a problem with a marking him though we won i teared my muscle up. when hes was substuited i asisted 2 goals so easly . at that time he played right wing i played left wing .
Too bad He's already been signed by Chelsea... He'll be playing for Benfica for a year and a half to get used to european football. Then he's on his way to chelsea. Looks like Real was a little slow on picking him up.
I DONT IF YOU HAVE LE VOGAYER LE SPORT SOMETHING LKE THAT ,(TITLE) .I STILL REMEMBER THE DATE ITS MARCH 11 1999
That was a rumor that never actually happened. It might, but hasn't yet. Kinda like Chelsea getting Roberto Carlos, or Chelsea getting Gerrard, or Chelsea getting Ronaldo, or....
umm if any big team buys him, it would be ideal if they loaned him out to france, portugal, or holland. i think he needs a year or two to adjust to europe.
Cadena Ser are reporting that Real Madrid have confirmed that a meeting between Robinho's representatives did take place. Apparently Robinho will not be coming in January, but is being looked at for a possible June transfer. If I read this article correctly... they say his price would be about $20m (or do they mean euros?.....$20m is about €15m with the current exchange rate). However, Madrid are stressing that there has been no definitive purchase of the player.
Totally agree here.. it would be great to bring in a super young talent early just so we don't have to spend more money buying them later. How many great players have gone to Holland or Portugal or even Italy on the cheap when they could have easily come to Madrid and been loaned out? And Robinho's talent is not questionable.. i have to admit i've been jealous of Man Utd getting C. Ronaldo and Chelsea getting Robben.. it would be great if we have our own superb unpredictable dribbling youngster to give our opponents something new to think about.
http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/041107/2/7fri.html Horrible news if its true -- Brazil, and much of South America, is having a lot of trouble with kidnappings and ransoms. Hopefully this particular incident isn't true; what an awful situation...
LINK Madrid have apparently obtained a preferantial something (no clue what it's called in English) so they've got first dibs on buying the player. The article says the club wanted to get him in the winter break, but that Santos wanted to keep the player untill the end of the season, so maybe Florentino saying that he wouldn't buy a player mid season isn't going to hold (for the Mascherano fans )
I only have heard of this from Championship Manager... I think it means the following: We pay Santos $x up front, and the agreement is that for that sum we have the first chance to buy Robinho at another $y (which is set when the initial sum is paid). To simplify, pretend Robinho was an item at the store who's value could change over time. We are paying the store $5 dollars for a chance to buy the item next year for $50. If the item is worth more than $55, we got a good deal. If it is not, we wasted $5. Hopefully this is somewhat right and somewhat understandable.
We have first option, which means that Santos won't accept any bids for Robinho without talking to us first.
It is not good for me to say this, but the kidnapped incident may force Robinho to leave sooner than Santos wanted.
or the other way round: it wont let me provide specific link, but its on skysports.planetfootball.com
Here's the link, and a snippet... http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=236491&lid=10&cpid=23&title=Real's+Robinho+move+hits+snag I really hope that his mother is found perfectly fine, and once that is done, I hope Real Madrid get him. He is a truly brilliant talent.
Real Madrid to hold first option on Robinho MADRID, Spain (AP) - Real Madrid is set to announce it has secured first option on the signing of young Brazilian forward Robinho from Santos, news reports said Tuesday. Leading sports daily Marca said the deal, which it expects to be concluded at a meeting between representatives of the two clubs and Robinho's agents on Wednesday, will allow Madrid to sign the 20-year-old forward when the season ends in June. The newspaper said if Madrid takes up its option on Robinho, who is often described as 'The new Pele' of Brazilian football, it will initially loan him to another European club to enable him to gain experience. http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3147752
Re: Real Madrid to hold first option on Robinho I will be a very, very, happy person once/if this is announced. Once Real Madrid report it, we can actually stop worrying about it -- the Vieira/Joaquin situations, among others, have shown me that I must be wary and careful before assuming a player is actually a member of Real; just because AS and Marca say its going to happen doesn't mean it will!
