Watching the Santos x Independiente match for Copa Libertadores, I heard one of the commentators saying that Santos' president stated that he was made an offer by Barcelona for the young brazilian new star Robinho, as a way to compensate the loss of Beckham to Real Madrid. He also said that one of Robinho's dreams is to play for Barça.

Does anyone have more info on this. What do you think of this? When should Robinho go, since they have a big chance to dispute the world championship late this year.

i dont see this going through unless if it is an offer that cannot be refused or if they agree to not go through with the transfer until the brazilian league finishes.

Several months ago, Santos said that Diego and Robinho were not for sale to anyone until the Copa Libertadores was over. Well it's almost over. Perhaps they will both be gone. It has been expected by Santos fans.

I heard the same in the reprisse of that game, I think that Robinho being a blaugrana fan since his childhood is an advantage we should use.

Geovanni will stay one more year in Benfica, and im more than positive that Rochemback will be loaned/sold, Sorin might go back to Cruzeiro.

i hope he goes to barca but he has signed a 4 year contract with santos and santos won't accept a bid less than 40 million for him.

  10. I heard Sorin could be going to Man City.

Robinho is a great player! He's got great footballing skills, unfortunately, defenders now seem to know how he plays and he's no longer that surprising and unpredictable forward he was last season.

Anybody who followed last year Copa Libertadores knows that at first he was a Force of Nature, unstoppable, but as the rounds went on his star began to diminished, and right when he was needed the most he couldn't do anything against ex-Boca (now with Monaco) right back (forgot his name)... who nulified him completely!

Now, we got to remember that the kid is only 20 Y/O, but right now there's to much hype about him.

What Santos (and Robinho himself), should do, is send him to the Gym (and maybe) to a lesser team so he can gain a much needed bigger body, in today's football talent is no longer enough. After all that's what Flamengo did with ZICO, when he was 19, and right now Robinho is no Zico!

Robinho is a great player, I await his arrival in Europe (if he ever moves) eagerly!
