brilliant hat trick today for Spurs. Hopefully he can keep knocking them in and finish amongst the top scorers for the season.

best thing about the game was watching o'leary squirm under questioning about why robbie couldn't get a game under him at leeds.

at one point he actually asked for the subject of conversation to be changed.

The second one was a shot from about 20,25 yards, and the third was a run past 2 or three defenders (including a pretty sweet nutmeg) before he clipped the ball over Keller. Very classy.

I have to say that was a bl**dy magnificent hat-trick from Robbie. I only saw the goals, but I don't think I've seen many better hat-tricks in my time.
In a way I would have preferred if one or two of them were scruffy poacher-type tap ins, which for my money he still doesn't get enough of. I still don't think he's a 20 goal a season man, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Interesting though that only Henry, Beattie and Shearer have scored more Premiership goals than Keane this season. Fairly exalted company.

an absolutely brilliant display by robbie, won the game single handed by all acounts.

i'm a HUGE robbie fan - his hunger and passion and enthusiasm for the game is there for all too see, however do you think he's a world class striker?

i'm open to correction but he's yet to score against one of the permiership heavyweights - utd, arsenal, chelsea or liverpool. his movement is superb but seems to lack the ability to beat the better defenders - one on one. he took his hat-trick with fantastic skill but defensively everton were all over the place and gave robbie all the room in the world; stubbs in particular had a howler.

delighted to see o'leary squirm in his seat.

How many goals has he got this season already? I think I heard the comenatator say he was now on 8 or 9. If he is any where near Henry come May that would be super. Despite their win yesterday I was not impressed with Spurs. When you are being outplayed at home by an understrength Everton team as Spurs were for large periods it's a bad sign. Robbie won the game for them yesterday. Henry on the other hand has the advantage of playing for a very impressive Arsenal team.

10 goals for the season (including 1 for leeds)

    18 appearance for spurs - 9 goals
(not bad considering it took him 9 games to score his first!)

in the permiership (excluding all cup games),it puts him:
    1 ahead of van nistelrooy
    1 ahead of owen
    2 ahead of hasselbaink
    2 ahead of wiltord

    but....
    4 behind henry
    5 behind beattie
    3 behind shearer

..still, 4th in such esteemed company isn't bad.

However, Beattie has 5 pens to his name, Henry and Shearer have at least two, whereas Keanes are all from open play. 10 goals in 18 starts is a 20 goal a season average without doubt.

yeah, i forgot to mention that, it's even more impressive then. also what impresses me about him is his work rate which is completely off the chart. he just never stops, i'm sure he'd have more if he wasn't playing up front with pensioners.

one particular criticism from spurs fans is that he is so quick that when he looks to offload the ball quite often sheringham, ferdinand and poyet are usually some distance off. the momentum is lost and the opposition have regrouped.

I'm surprised Robbie isn't the penalty taker at Spurs. He showed his ability to take a penalty under pressure in Korea against Spain. Now if only the rest of the team weren't so shite at taking them!

Sherringham (Bless him) needs them to make his goals talley look in any way half decent. When he retires Keanes the obvious choice to take over. BTW, to the person who said Keanes never scored against the big guns at club level, he scored a real vintage Robbie Keane style goal against Arsenal as a Coventry player and had a goal disallowed against Man U because he took the free kick too quickly, hasnt scored against Liverpool yet mind.

If he'd clipped the ball over Keller, wouldn't that have been an own goal?

    Kahn

And he's scored one against Oliver Kahn, who has to be the best keeper in the world.

Apparently Spurs are in for Morientes, which might provide Robbie with some capable company up front.

Iversen was nonexistent, making Keane's performance even more impressive.

As far as goal scoring is concerned,we all know Robbies as mucha set up man as he is a striker. He will get his goals--and he has-- but he will also make goals.Has the Premiership considered making assists a concrete stat?Between open play and drawing penalties(which I know Robbies done at least once this year)his "points" would be as high as anyone's.

Which is exactly why I think we should never play him with a target man, if you ask me Defoe or Jeffers are his ideal partners at club level, as far as realistic targets for Spurs are concerned if this falls through.
