He wasn't on my radar at Tottenham so I don't know what his on-field demeanor was like then, but does anyone else get the distinct impression he's not really having fun in LA? Dealing with CONCACAF refs may have provoked more of a reaction than usual, but I feel like most of this season he's just seemed kind of grim...is something rotten in the Galaxy dressing rooms?

Anyone else think he might be due for an early exit?

You making too much out of noting. Before he signed on he knew about the referees in this league and CCL as well.

Yeah, but although it was an impressive blow-up it's not just last night...the guy just doesn't seem to be having fun.

I seem to remember him making some comments towards the end of his Aston Villa loan about not wanting to go back... But that could just be my faulty memory.

He's having fun every time he scores with all the half cartwheels he does.

Granted, I only watched the highlights of last night's game, but to me he looked like he was having plenty of fun.

The whole refusing-to-talk-to-the-media thing made me think he didn't have the greatest night...

I think it's a combination of factors, really.
    1. He's never been one to hide his emotions on the field, whether it be aimed at officials, teammates or (usually) himself.
    2. I'm sure that it's frustrating to come from a technically proficient league like the EPL and try to adapt to the MLS style of "just kick the ball really hard and hopefully someone will run onto it" when so much of his game depends on service.
    3. CONCACAF officiating is really that terrible.

Yeah, I hear Keane also hates the times when the silly Americans try to pick up the ball and throw it to each other.

Come on. It is 2012. The league has evolved and you cannot pigeonhole any MLS style. It is not as technically proficient as the bigger Euro leagues and Liga MX, but there are many good things happening. The idea that everyone is still playing dump and chase college soccer or the English long ball is false.

Just about every MLS player who has played in a CCL game is just as frustrated with the refereeing. I wouldn't read too much into this.

I'm sure he'd be perfectly happy camping if Donovan and Beckham would quit making bear noises in the middle of the night to freak him out.

Seriously, he needs his sleep for the nature hike.

Could be worse; he could be playing for Ireland.
