I've brought the idea up of a trip to Mexico City for the WCQ - but it turns out all my friends are lilly-livered.

My wife I kind of figured. But grown men?

Dude, you could turn this trip for x-tra credit. Aren't you the Editor or some such for the OU daily? Go on assignment and cover the game !

    HAH.

Yeah - I need to make an US away game. This is as good as it gets outside of a World Cup.

I will keep my eyes peeled for packages / tickets.

    Why the hell not?

Yeah, you may have a point there. No real man would miss out on soccer because "Ooh, it's played in Fair Park."

Ok I have started doing a price search for airline tickets and hotel packages and here is what I found. Keep in mind this is for one adult and airfare is going to be the main expense.

Fri, Mar 25 Dallas/Ft Worth, TX (DFW)
to MEX (Mexico City, Mexico) 8:30am to
    11:05am
    Nonstop

Mon, Mar 28 Mexico City, Mexico (MEX)
to DFW (Dallas/Ft Worth, TX) 7:25pm to
    9:55pm
    Nonstop

    TotalTripsm Price $518
    Per person $518

In the search was airline+hotel and the prices varied, but it was some what consitant. $518-847 for 4 days/3 nights and the best part, TotalTrip price includes entire hotel stay, round-trip flights for all the travelers, and all taxes and fees.

The hotels are betwen 1 star and 4 star in case you were wondering.

That's more or less what I found as well but I was planning on returning on Easter instead of Monday. Now that CONCACAF realizes the mistake for scheduling WCQ on Easter weekend I'm hoping that the match will be on a Saturday. I am also waiting on what Soccer Vacations, USSF, and Sam's Ejercito have to say.... before I commit. $100.00 per night and $250 for air fare is about my guesstimate !

I was guessing when I did it, but I have heard rumors it was not going to be at Azteca.

Oh yeah this was from Travelocity.

I wish it would be in Guadalajara. I've never been to Jalisco. I sincerely doubt that the MEX Fed would want to miss on a Big pay day and not having it in Azteca; besides, the black eye that they received since the osama debacle in the Olympic Q. may not want to be replicated.
