I reserved a block of tickets in the visiting supporters section for us for this game. It shouldn't be much of a problem to add new people, so please post here or PM me if you'd like to make additions. Tickets in our group are $12. If you're planning on getting seats elsewhere in the stadium, just be advised that tickets are apparently selling briskly and they're expecting a good crowd for this game. Also, please feel free to stop by our tailgate, which will probably be in Lot F a few hours before the game. Look for a tall orange and white flag that Art Vandaley will probably set up. We should be easy to spot.
I was joking, I do not care where we are as long as we are in our own area. I think we should scout it out when we get there and then put up our flags for others to find us, although Lot f would be my pick from looking at the photo.
I believe that our section will be in the northwest corner, so according to that map, it'll probably be easiest for us to tailgate in Lot F. A couple of the others are also nearby (Lots G and H), but we've been told by the Rapids FO that Lot F should work fine.
I am not sure if this matters or not, but the two games that I've attended, we've gone for Lot E, easy to get in (who wants to walk that far) and easier to get get out. Let me know if F is where it is and I'll do my best to swing by.
Re: Pre-Game Thread: 6/21 -- Dynamo @ Rapids <cue intro> Da da DA da, Da da da.....</end intro> I was sooo tempted to buy the sound-enabled Indiana Jones whip at Wal-mart on friday LOL! It plays the Raiders March (Indiana Jones theme song) when you push the button. They aren't lying about the altitude-adjustment that your body has to endure. I drove to Colorado Springs from Denver today and decided it was a great idea to go up almost 250 steps to the top of Seven Falls. I can jump and sing for 90 minutes but that stair climb busted my ass. I got to the top and I was breathing heavily. Upon my descent, I was hacking and I had to get a caffeine and cookie fix. I have some good pics of the falls before it got dark and afterwards when it gets lit up. I brought my TA scarf so I have some "Dynamo fans everywhere" thread moments. ... and I just had my first beer in a month, Laughing Lab. I almost busted into song The beer sampling tour has begun... ...
Re: Pre-Game Thread: 6/21 -- Dynamo @ Rapids Careful my friend Careful. We don't need our indiana jones friend dying on us.
Really? On the map it looks like Lot E is farther from the northwest corner where our seats will be. Lot E looks like it's closest to the southeast corner. Maybe that's not entirely to scale. The other thing about Lot F is that it's farther away from the lots where the local SGs tailgate, which, in general, is a good thing. In any event, look for Art Vandaley's orange and white flag.
Re: Pre-Game Thread: 6/21 -- Dynamo @ Rapids No worries. Had two close calls, on the rapids today, but gravity, wits, and my boat-mates kept me aboard Beer Summary 1. Laughing Lab (good) @ Colorado Springs, Hondos 2. Mouse Drool (good) @ Colorado Springs, Hooters 3. 83 Lager (meh) @ Colorado Springs, Hooters
The walk to our seats when they were in the NW corner was all of 5 minutes. It is the furthest away, but that means when you get there, there is tons of space available. When you leave, you walk past all the guys that left early and are stuck in the line. Then you get in your car and your in the front of the line. But F is fine as well. I will look for you guys. See you Sat.
Do you guys want tickets with us in the visiting supporters' section? We have some extras, so it's no problem, but I just wanted to check.
i think we're going to go to the british bulldog on friday at 12:30 for Euro Cup (Quarterfinals - Croatia vs Turkey). it'll probably work out perfectly to meet up with you guys at Great Divide which is only a few blocks away, probably around 2:30. if you get done at Coors early, come by the pub to catch the match
I've PMed narangi, katom, & DonJuego with my cell info in case they want to meet up. -------------------- I biked Pike's Peak today, 20 miles. It was a blast. I was singing Dynamo chants (Yo Si le voy, le voy al naranja, Xuxa, Let's Go Let's Go, Oh Dynamo, Horto Magiko, Vamos Houston Vamos) for a part of the ride. Horto Magiko is hard to do when you have to do both parts. I stopped singing Let's Go Let's Go when I was getting too close to other bikers b/c I didn't want to freak them out w/ "Let's Go Let's Go!" LOL ... then it started drizzling during the last 3 miles so we only had 10 ft visibility, slick roads, and nervous riders. Beer Summary 1. Laughing Lab (good) @ Colorado Springs, Hondos 2. Let's start it at Breckenridge Brewery. I visited the British Bulldog last night with ResidentOkie. I figure more people will find it more accessible if we just keep it all in downtown. I want to drink local beer and BB frowned upon it If anyone isn't in downtown, PM me so we can carpool and use my motel as a staging point. It's 1 mile north of Coors Field on Park Avenue West. I looked at the trail and it's feasible to park back at my motel and walk to the stadium before going to flying dog since it's relatively close. Beer Summary 1. Not sure if you realize but Odell makes this one. That is one of the Breweries on our list for today.
Just a reminder for people who may be travelling today and tomorrow -- look for us a couple of hours before the game in Lot F. If we're not in Lot F for whatever reason, then just look around the nearby lots for the orange and white flags and people milling about wearing orange. We shouldn't be hard to find. If you want to get in on the Friday activities, then please PM or otherwise contact yossarin or Art Vandaley.
Just came back from Fort Collins. Art V, Art V sister, Art V cousin, ResidentOkie and myself toured the Coopersmith Brewery, New Belgium, and Odell's Breweries.. and then 34-Cafe for more beer and food. I had at least 6/7 beers at Coopersmith, 4 at New Belgium and 6 at Odells... and then a Pabst Blue Ribbon in the cafe. Anyways. I've SMS'ed everyone to be at Fados from 12-2:30 for lunch and to watch the Euros. From there we'll be anywhere close by as previously mentioned. If you're on the roll call list, I've already PM'ed my contact information. See you Friday for brewery tours and the Mets/Rockies game and then tailgate on Saturday.
