http://worldcupway.blogspot.com/2008/07/river-plateat-pizza-hut-park.html It's just too bad all you Anti-Hitch folks are so blinded by your hatred to give him massive props for making this deal. Go Hitch!!
I'm a really big fan of both clubs, and I hope this comes to something positive. I think some input from River on the junior teams could be the best thing they could do for us. Of course if we could get some players that are at the end of the bench like we have from CAP that wouldn't be a bad thing eithier. River doesn't really have a reserve team, so anyone we get would be on the young side. Diego "the dwarf" Buonanotte burst of the scene this year, if someone like him could spend some time with Dallas to get experience that would be awesome. One the management side River probably isn't a great example to follow, they have been large and angry street protest against the president Jose Maria Aguilar. He has greased his own pockets by selling off percentage of most of the young players rights to investment groups to drum up short term gains, but it will screw river over when the players are ready to move to europe and river only gets half of their transfer fee. I'd say Mauro Rosales is the River, he came back from Ajax to play for River and has barely seen the field. Aguante River!!!
If River wants to unload the equivalent of a Ricardinho on us, then I'm not real excited about this. I still continue to consider him a total waste of space on the roster. Has anyone seen him score? Ever? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Man, I think this is brilliant. And, yeah, Hitch is to be commended for this. River Plate is still a giant in the world of football. There's not another MLS club that will not envy this association.
He scored against FCD in the second leg of the USA-Brazil Challenge in 2007. I think he scored for FCD in this year's CAP game too, no?
AWESOME! I am currently planning a trip to Buenos Aires, and a key part of the trip, in fact the entire 10 days, is being planned around attending a River game at Monumental! Great job Hitch, get it done!! Buonanotte is a spare and really still has a lot to learn, I'm sure River would loan him out to get some PT.
Man, I am jealous! You will love it. If your schedule permits, you should hop the Buquebus over to Montevideo and catch a game at Centernario. It was really cool to see the site of the first World Cup final...
huge diff is River plate is one of the top teams in the Americas making some of the best players in the world with amazing youth systems..... and Ath Parm is a bottom feeder brazilian team, and tigres...... So the whole richardinho comment is a little much(as CAP is Crap compared to River) because the reserves of River PLate are already some of dallas best players
CAP is a bottom feeder that since 2000 has won their state championship 4 times, won the Brazillian campeonato and finished second and was the runners up in Copa Libertadores a few years ago.
I've seen him score. It was with a blond chick, about 5'7'', she was wearing an Argentina #10 jersey.
Have you ever seen crzdcolombian write anything positive about anything other than colombian teams/players?
I wish there were more Argentines in D/FW. Then you might actually be able to find a decent Argentine restaurant in town.
