Shout out to the Boca fans latching on to the "questionable" sending off of Barrios to claim Cunha is clearly favoring River. I wonder if a yellow that could have not been a yellow outweighs a clear penalty and a clear red.
Aguante Pratto, aguante Quintero, aguante Martinez, aguante Gallardo!
LOL
I don't think anyone can argue River as a more worthy champion: Round of Sixteen -- Eliminated the current leaders of the Argentine league (Racing) Quarterfinals -- Eliminated the defending champs of the Copa Sudamericana (Independiente) Semifinals -- Eliminated the defending champs of the Copa Libertadores (Gremio) Final -- Eliminated our eternal rival (Bobo Juniors) EL MAS GRANDE SIGUE SIENDO RIVER PLATE
HAHAHAHAH VAAAAAMOOOOOOSSSSSSSSS Wheres Pablo Perez eye patch? Were Tevez and Abila coughing out there? No team deserved to win more than River after all that happened, and no one deserved to lose more than boca especially those three scum bags and their president "Tony Soprano" Angelici Quintero is the best player ever. LOVE YOU. Pratto- gracias!!!!!! Armani!!!!!!
River is much superior to Boca and Boca know it. That is why they wanted the trophy just handed to them. Over the two legs River was the better team. River should have won in the away leg. They had more chances and better chances. What kind of team goes ahead three times and still loses? River showed great spirit and guts to tie every time.
Well said sir. I honestly thought I would lose my passion for the game after this fiasco, but if anything, its made me love River even more with players like Ponzio, Armani, Pinola, etc. who are class... A President like D'Onofrio, a director like Francescoli, and a DT like Gallardo... Complete opposite of Boca. My hatred of boca has tripled. I can't help it. They represent all that is wrong with Argentina and Football. Angelici, Crespi, Tapia, Tevez, Abila, Benedetto, Perez, Barros Schelotto... Its truly a disgraceful club with disgraceful fans, players, coaches, and directors. GRANDE RIVER
Partidazo! I don't think the Bernabeu has seen this kind of match in three or four years. Quintero is a genius when he sets out to be, in the mold of Alonso, Francescoli and Ortega.
Just want to quickly relay may thoughts on the Final now that all has settled down. Armani is probably the best goalkeeper in the history of River. I think the fact that he has already played abroad in Colombia means he probably will want to stay at River for the long haul. Obviously money is an issue and he can earn more abroad, but I feel he'll stay. Barovero is an idol too, but I feel with him we would have lost yesterday. He always struggled with highballs, but also with hard low crosses he would some times miss, punch weekly, or not claim at all. His shot stopping is second to none, and I remember the deflected shot in extra time, he did well to let his body behind it, these saves he makes look simple, other goalies would have been wrong footed or used poor technique and let it in. He is just a stud. His punching however is what really sets him apart. So often he clears danger. His brilliant punch led to Pity's goal too. Casco- I don't want to say sorry, because at a club like river we need to hold our players to a standard higher than any other, and for a long time Casco was horrible, but this libertadores run has been great for him. His block on Perez in the 28th minute , the player I hate the most after Tevez, was just brilliant. He really earned my respect. Mayada- What can we say about this guy? He is one of the good guys in football. I feel for him for losing his sister, and hope this brings him and his family some happiness after suffering. He has now played two Libertadores Finals out of position and been key in both. We wouldn't have won this game if Montiel had played the whole time. In fact, I'm convinced that had Camilo played in La Bombonera, we may have won that game 5-2 and the series easily. The pass to Quintero, is not one Montiel could make. I know its an easy pass, but Montiel would have done something stupid or given the ball away. I want to see Camilo in there in the Semi. Grande Cami!!!! Nacho Fernandez- He has been great in a River shirt against weak teams, but against Boca he finally looked like the kind of midfielder I want for us. He shot on goal and arrived in the area instead of looking to dive to win set pieces. More of that Nacho. Brilliant pull back for Pratto. Quintero- What more can be said? He is a super sub. Its not just conditioning. By the time he scored, he had already played 52 minutes- the same time he would normally have been tiring had he started. He continued to demand the ball and to make plays, his pass to pity may have been taken for granted by most, but it was perfect, many players would waste. This guy is a crack. When he is on, like @Pipiolo said, he is in the league of Alonso, Francescoli, and Ortega. Just hope his on nights happen more often. CRACK. Grande Juanfer. Much like Casco, I won't say sorry because he was pathetic in every match for River until the Final. So I'll say thank you. Thank you for the goals and earning our respect. Ponzio- Gran Capitan. Truly a leader. It wasn't his best night, but that doesn't change anything. He represents the club. Really hoping he doesn't retire! GRANDE CAPITAN ETERNO Maidana and Pinola- Two warriors. What more can be said? Been through it all and last night they showed us again fighting the whole second half against against younger players who, in theory, should have been in better shape, but you never would have known it. Also just want to say a few things about Boca Pavon is another invention of the press. The guy is woeful. The Colombian Villa is a much better player. Pavon was taken to the world cup under orders from Tapia and Angelici, even starting the France game in a ludicrous strategy. The kid was terrible in both legs. River suffered when he came off in the 1st leg, but Guillermo had no notion of this and started Pavon again, and he was horrible again. Thank you Guillermo. On the topic of Guillermo... We can thank him for having Olazo take all the free kicks, including the indirect one in the box. He hit the wall every time. Pathetic.
And did I forget someone?
