AFTER WHAT SEEMED LIKE A WHOLE YEAR, OUR LOVABLE CREW MANAGED TO CLAIM VICTORY IN THEIR NEW FORTRESS. AS WE MARCH EVER CLOSER TO THE END OF THE SEASON, THE CONTESTS MEAN MORE. EVERY OUTING IS A OPPORTUNITY THAT CAN NOT BE WASTED. ESPECIALLY NOW, AS A OLD RIVAL, ALSO DESPERATE TO QUALIFY FOR THE END OF SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT, MARCHES INTO THE CITY. OUR YELLOW CLAD HEROES KNOW THAT THEY CAN NOT AFFORD TO WASTE ANY MORE POINTS. THE WEIGHT OF EXPECTATION IS GREAT. THE CITIZENS ARE DISPLEASED, BOTH THE HEROES AND THEIR LEADERS ALIKE. THE DRAMA NEVER ENDS ON THE CALEB PORTER CREW SOCCER SHOW. HOW WILL THIS SEASON END? ONLY TIME WILL TELL. 6 POINT SPECIAL - CREW HAVE 53% OR MORE POSSESSION, 15 OR MORE SHOTS, 6 OR MORE CORNERS, AND LUIS DIAZ HAS 1 OR MORE GOALS OR ASSISTS IN A CREW WIN.
I'll probably wait until I see the injury report and ineups, and make sure that Diaz is actually going to start, but... damn!! Even if it's a long shot, it's not THAT long of a shot.
You know I love a juicy prop bet, but there is no possible situation that a Caleb Porter coached team will have 15 or more shots and 6 corners.
The 6 corners I can see. The 15 shots worries me. Funny how Luis Diaz getting on the scoresheet doesn't even phase us.
Having Cucho out there has certainly benefited our potential-packed Tico. Of Diaz's two goals and five assists, all but one goal have come since Cucho's arrival. All hail The Cucho!
Honestly, that's a phrase that I've read in print so infrequently in my life that I had no idea I had it wrong until you pointed it out. I hear it a lot, but I never read it. Like "hear hear." I never knew if it was that, or "here here." Or "hear here."
Depends on the score. I still think the Luis Diaz condition is the strictest of the bunch. As hot as he is, we could dominate the game, and win 2-0 on a Zelarayan penalty and a Josh Williams corner kick header, and Diaz would never get on the board. Playing well isn't a guarantee for a specific player.
Is this the longest DORA to date? It opens at 9am, or whatever time the bars open, whichever happens second. Kegs and eggs!
Here's the list of participants. Who the hell knows if they'll be open that early. Betty’s Bar Boston’s Pizza Buca Di Beppo Goodwood Brewing Moran’s Bar & Grille Nada R Bar Rodizio Grill Whistle & Keg
"Mainly early afternoon showers and thunderstorms." It's only a 30% chance though. Will we get a repeat of the Capybaras being pushed to Sunday? (Reminder: They're currently scheduled for 8:30pm Saturday at LDC.)
Welp, no Pedro and maybe no Lucas. Lucas Zelarayán is questionable and Pedro Santos is out for Saturday for #Crew96— Thomas Costello (@1ThomasCostello) September 2, 2022 I think Sands has filled in well for Santos (PLAY YOUR KIDS) but we obviously don't have anyone to replace the quality Lucas brings. Of course, we shouldn't need our full-strength squad to smother the F!re. Gotta take all three points at home, especially against these scrubs.
Former BigSoccer legend and preseason videographer @4castNate* reminds me (as @zman31 did earlier this week) that the Crew have not won two consecutive matches this season. Firstly, woof. B, tomorrow would be a lovely day to change that statistic. *you should also sign up for his MLS 4cast Substack if you're into that sort of thing
It's "hear, hear" Or more accurately Hear! Hear! as in "hear what the guy is saying" as opposed to answering the question "Who ordered the prime rib rare?".
Zelarayán is unlikely this weekend. Santos to return likely next week, per head coach Caleb Porter#Crew96— Thomas Costello (@1ThomasCostello) September 2, 2022 Even without Lucas, I think this team is better than Ezra's
Chigaco is gonna sit super deep. Won’t need Lucas since we usually don’t struggle against teams like that.
