    Rivaldo has signed with Al-Ittihad.

"Jeddah, Jan. 4: 31-year old Brazilian World Cup winning schemer Rivaldo has officially joined Saudi league champions Al-Ittihad, this being just confirmed by club president Mansour Al-Balawi in a special press conference held in Jeddah."

Six month deal worth $3 million... not too bad for six months work.

Now that’s pretty hard to believe. The only players who’ve gone to the mid-east leagues are complete washouts. Rivaldo is still a starter for Brazil! I can’t believe he’s so money hungry. And even if he was I thought the Mexicans(Club America) were ready to pay him just as much. When does the Asian CL begin?

His agent has denied this and claims he is going to sign for either Cruzeiro or Botafogo this week.

What I know about this "news" is that the papers said that balwai said that rivaldo has only to sign the contract to play for ittihad. That statment as you can see did not say Rivaldo signed for ittihad, but the papers kicked up a storm, and the world media followed...

If hes going to a Brazilian club he should have gone to Santos. I think that it would have been a mistake for him to go to Club America, despite my bieng a fan.

I don't see why he wouldn't want to come to MLS. They could have gotten Nike or Adidas to pony up the cash.
