I didn't know that, but it is not a surprise. The gay community at Disney World (Orlando) identifies as "family." Though, I think it has more to do with the parks being family friendly, and the gay community being a family.
The best English player of all time is, for me, Alan Shearer. The best England player (note the difference) of all time is, for me, Harry Kane.
This post provides an explanation When I think of gay anthems two things stand out to me: 1) they're mostly sung by women and 2) they're mostly sung by blacks. Both make sense in that women and blacks, and most especially black women, have to constantly overcome adversity and they often sing songs that deal with that; gays relate to such songs.
I don't think so - no more or less than in straight bars. I mean, while I don't agree with the placement of songs on this list, it doesn't crack the top 65 gay anthems according to Billboard (not that they are the experts, for the record). ("We are Family" comes in at #53)
I can't believe Smalltown Boy is only at #33. I feel gay when I watch that video. Also I think the Communards version of Don't Leave Me This Way if the better anthem than Thelma Houston's version. And what about Gene Pitney's coming out version of Something's Gotta Hold of My Heart with Marc Almond? You can tell I'm a British 80s guy.
Never forget, it's as contagious and dangerous as smallpox according to the "educational" video "Boys Beware"! (Go to 3.51-4.05 in the video)
What about "It's raining men"? But, that one is not that old, I don't think. It wasn't around back when my brother was alive.
And on the subject of gay anthems, I give you Puerto Pollensa, by Sandra Mihanovich. This was a song that became popular during the times of the Junta dictatorship in Argentina, and also secretly became a sort of iconic gay/lesbian culture anthem in Argentina at a time when it was very dangerous to be a part of the gay/lesbian community. It's about a secret, forbiden love, that eventually is fulfilled, and it ends with a line that's very telling for those who understand the meaning. Y sin dormir nos fuimos a la playa Y nos besamos descaradamente Alucinando al gordito de fajas Que fue corriendo a cambiarse los lentes Translation: And without sleeping we went to the beach And we kissed each other shamelessly Freaking out the chubby little man with glasses Who went running to change his lenses.
Carlton Pearson I first heard of him when he was associated with Christian singer Carmen. He was a pastor of a megachurch in Oklahoma but ended up seeing the light and decided that the Christian god doesn't actually hate gays and that Hell isn't real. Not surprisingly, he was branded a heretic and shunned by evangelical pastors.
Bidens, Clintons arrive at church ahead of Rosalynn Carter tribute service Reporters traveling with Joe Biden say the president and first lady have arrived at Glenn Memorial church in Atlanta ahead of the tribute service for Rosalynn Carter. Traveling with them are a number of current and former elected officials, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, and Georgia’s two Democratic senators, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. Jimmy Carter is also expected to attend, though is not reported to be traveling with the president, as is former first lady Melania Trump. As guests are filing in, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is running through some of Rosalynn Carter’s favorite songs, including compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Intellect and smooth skin next to be best crow's feet Why is Melania even there? Her redneck hubby decided to sit it out. This protocol shit needs to be stopped so we can properly reflect the party gap, and America's war between good and evil.
Some beautiful tributes to Rosalyn Carter.....Jason Carter her grand son's speech was amazing. He said that Senator Raphael Warnock told him "First Lady Rosalynn Carter doesn't need an eulogy, her entire life is a sermon"....
