well i am just refering to the games against Mexico, it would be a shame if the US had to play the fall back and counter strategy against central american teams...
you play the tactics which gives you the best chance to win... whether it's catenaccio or total football... I've heard the mexicans whine because the usa does NOT play the mexican style to beat them, yet when we look on the scoreboard, recently, usa tends to have the better results... so perhaps it's mexico who needs to make tactical adjustments to their style to change the recent trend??
I for one ain't winning, like i said all over this thread, Arena knows Mexico and knows the strategy that works best against them....
Mexico has always had problems with our faster players: Cobi Jones, LD, Eddie Lewis, Josh Wolff. It's not all counter-attack. It's not all counterattack. Once the U.S. began developing speed, they started beating Mexico.
mexico is adapting a bit, injecting more speed into their roster too... there's an ebb and flow and tactics cause coaches to look for players to cover weak spots..
