Rick had Joe Cannon on today. Nice 6-7 minute interview. Barry seems to be the only local media personality who continually covers the Quakes.
That does not surprise me, as I always felt he was a class when I heard him being interviewed on occasion in years past. Another one (not local to SJ) who will discuss soccer if someone calls is Grant Napear at 1140AM in Sacramento. He does not do it often, because quite frankly people rarely call about soccer. But when someone does he treats the callers and their comments with respect instead of trashing them like most sport radio guys do.
Entertaining interview. It was pretty funny when Landon yelled in the backround and Rick asked Joe to tell him to be quiet, that Rick was way bigger than Landon I wondered if Landon set Joe up though, when they finished the interview and were going to comercial they played a clip of John Schrader's (sp?) call from the all star game when Landon scored "Landon Donovan scores against his San Jose team mate Joe Cannon!" Pretty funny stuff
and again he had John Shraeder (sp?) on today (09/18), talking about Saturdays refereeing travesty, this weekends game, the postseason, the America game etc. They were talking for quite a while. I had to call in and share my miserable weekend (Quakes loss, Giants loss), he told me I sound like Frank Yallop. I don't know if this is a good thing. Made the 6h drive back slightly less tedious.
Landon was on KNBR today. Don't know what time or with who, but that's what a friend of mine told me this afternoon.
