Per our discussion at the T-Bird and me being pretty drunk right now, I thought I'd start this thread. If you feel the need to apply a sticky, go ahead. But this thread is to serve the purpose of giving our props and good words to Mr. Rick B, who goes through a lot of crap to get us these tickets. Nevertheless, there are still people out there who think that he's going to fvck you over, etc., etc. Look, Rick is the man. Despite everything that's happened with people fvcking him over and him being in the red, he continues to do this as a favor to us. Put your trust in him. He'll come through for you. He'll even take you to the Gunners Pub and the T-Bird if you're nice to him. And Indian food too. Hell, he's so big now that he even has his own secretary. Post your good words to the man right here.
15 May 2004. Rick got me a ticket to Leicester City at home. last match of the unbeaten season. I had never met him before and hadn't been on the boards posting a lot, so I didn't know what to expect. he gave me directions from to the T-Bird from the Arsenal tube stop. I get to Heathrow, go through customs, leave the group I'm with and hop on the Tube. I get to the Arsenal station, follow the directions, find a pay phone, and call Rick's mobile. He meets me across the street and immediatly introcduces me to all his friend's and we start drinking. Not much for me because I hadn't slept in like 24 hours (couldn't sleep on the plane, redeye flight). We walk to the match and he invites me back to the Tavern after the match, but I couldn't make it because I had a group dinner and by the time the match was over I hadn't slept since friday morning and it was saturday afternoon. He also came to Chicago and joined the Chicago Gooners at the Globe to watch an England WC Qualifier. I'm pretty sure he never had an empty pint in front of him. In fact he had a few waiting on deck once he finished the one in his hand.
And here I thought this would be a thread about organizing some sort of charity match to help assuage Rick's travel expenses!
the Invincibles season-my maiden voyage to Highbury, vs. Charlton. met Rick at the Finsbury Park tube, went to the Arsenal tavern, got loaded, went to the North Bank, had a great time. last season's FA Cup game vs. Wolves, took the missus to the game, met Rick at the Finsbury Park tube, went to the Arsenal tavern, got loaded, went to the North Bank, went back to The Arsenal Tavern with the missus, got loaded some more, had a great time. last March-we all met Rick at The Globe, got him loaded, had a great time. took him to see Da Bulls. I also helped him get some golf clubs for cheap
that should be the second match at Ashburton Grove..after the testimonial for DB10 I suggest Grays Athletic as the opponent.
We are very fortunate Gooners to have someone like Rick to not only be our friend but also work VERY hard to find tickets for any ArseAm Gooner that needs them, arrange tours, discounts, away match coaches, away match transportation-Fleetwood Mac or Manilow free of charge ( ) out of his own money and the goodness of his heart! He even finds food for hungry husbands and takes you into his fold like we are all family. I know that I would not have been fortunate enough to see 2 matches while we were in London without his hard work. He found tickets for 43 people for the Arsenal v. Sunderland match! He is an amazing man! Love ya Rick!
Lousy politics but a great heart. One of the nicest people in the world. If anyone else screws this man I will hunt them down. Oh yeah, did I mention lousy politics?
If you don't know enough about Rick such that you don't want to send him payment before the tickets, then you shouldn't be asking for them. Seriously--if you don't know enough that you feel skittish, you are not enough of a fan to request his help.
Hey, he owed me one too but we're sorted now. Rick is a fantastic guy, who goes above and beyond the call of duty on a consistent basis - even for a Chelsea supporter. He's a good man doing many wonderful things for American and Canadian supporters of Arsenal, and one of the most trustworthy men on the internet I have ever known.
I think the only real way we can show our appreciation to rick is if we pick him up a pair of these: Rick = da man
Rick is true class. Any little question about the inner-inner working about the team, club, or stadium that I could not find online, he would answer. Thanks for being a soulja Rick and if you come to St. Louis to watch a Rams game I got your back....Thank ya now...Roscoe!
The next time any of you see the ArseAm banner with all those signatures, know that Rick was responsible. Romeo and myself did what we could but it was Rick's bulldog determination that got it done. Add to that the fact that he's been undergoing a constant onslaught of colonials crossing the pond and you have a man of ultimate quality. Bob
This had me laughing. Rep due. Rick is awesome. Easily the best mod on BS. Never got a ticket from him but know plenty that have.
Having met the lad in Edinburgh, all I can say is that he's a great guy, if a bit on the midget side.
Rick somehow ensured that my first match at Highbury was a 3-0 win over the Black-eyed Rovers. And, having just purchased a v. Persie shirt while waiting for Rick to arrive, vP scored that lovely goal in the closing minutes. I don't know how Rick did it. Perhaps he ought to play left back.
I have never done any business with Rick, but after just speaking with him on BS a few times, I cansee he is a great trustworthy person
if edward sheringham says that rick's a fucking cunt, rick's a fucking cunt. just kidding, of course. rick's a good egg, as i see it. he's so damn cool about helping american fans with tickets and logistics - hell, i wish he still supported spurs. seriously, though. rick's allright. you'd have to be quite the ass to think otherwise. and if you're an american gooner, he's a Godsend. but, then, i don't have to tell that to you lot.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Rick B again. He should have a street near Ashburton Grove named for him..
