ABMOD now writing sports journalism http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/10516842179081.xml ...the ball's on the ground most often, so then your height doesn't matter.
not a bad little piece...if he keeps playing like he does, i can get used to our team mascot doubling as our starting defensive midfielder
abmod= ankle biting munchkin of death. Not a bad article, but sort of an answer to a question no one was asking. I would have preferred a Q&A about the player, team, etc than a "this is what I do" list, but maybe that was what they told him to write. I disagree with him a bit on the height issue. If you could put a 5'11" guy or a 5'5" guy on the post, which one does he think we would pick? Part of the job of marking involves breaking up plays with your head. The taller you are, the more able you are to do this. And while we're on D-mids with height, Patrick Vieira is 6'4" and is a great D-Mid. He truly links the back with the attack and can play both Defense and Offense well as a mid. Richie Williams has been great this year, I won't knock him now as he is playing five times as well as I expected, but he's not Patrick Vieira, nor would I expect him to be (as Vieira makes more than our team).
