Is that not just the best goal, but the best play I can remember from Mitchell? Brilliant volley makes it 2-1 Palace.

Now West Ham have all the momentum, so of course CP pull back ahead against the run of play. Pretty great wrong-foot volley for the goal.

And he returns to his normal self, punting a wide open shot in the box into the bleachers :D

Fun watching Chris be the designated long throw-in specialist for CP. They've been pretty good.

    Full-time, 2-1 CP. I didn't see Chris put a foot wrong today.

Chris and friends up 1-0 over Liverpool 10 minutes in. On pace to win 9-0.

Chris with a classy left-foot line breaking pass starts the break, Alison saves Liverpool again. Palace are absolutely running over them, hopefully they can put something in to show for it.

Palace are going to rue the chances they have wasted in the first half.

Richards can’t clear the ball and heads it right into the path of Chiesa for a Liverpool goal. Game is 1-1.

He is going to want that back. Match was generally good for him otherwise.

Liverpool 1-1, not sure if Richards involved.

They had a lengthy VAR check to see if Salah got a hand on the ball crossed into the box right before it reached Richards (who then headed it into the path of the goalscorer Chiesa). It looked possible but evidence was inconclusive so the goal stood.

I think it touched his hand slightly and maybe that threw Richards off a bit but he should have used his foot on that clearance. Either way, a bit of bad timing on a poor clearance that otherwise has been a great start.

Woah looks like Palace just won it in the very last minute of added time.

Poor performance by Richards, shouldn’t be called for October friendlies. Could be benched after this.

I love the cesspool of reddit and twitter.

    All is forgiven ...

    Chris Richards – 8
The American was formidable for the Eagles today with an undeniable hunger to cut out any sign of a Liverpool attack with swift interceptions and supremacy in duels.

The last few weeks Richards has regained his special talent for line breaking passes. It’s a joy to watch him do that, and he is doing it again today.

To prove dspence's point, Richards with a vertical ball that leads to a Mateta chip that gets over the keeper but is headed off the line by O'Brien to keep it 1-0 Palace.

Mateta chokes on an opportunity with Pickford well out of position as he had to challenge Sarr. Misses the lower open corner embarrassingly. Starting to smack of the kind of match where Everton can steal a point despite being outplayed.

Penalty called against Lacroix - saw the attacker too late to pull out of his tackle. Everton opportunity to equalize.

Following Sarr rounding the keeper well and just…not shooting? Bizarre sequence.

And now an embarrassing penalty given away by Lacroix.

Ugh. Lacroix with a bad defensive play, which he follows up with a clumsy foul in the box. Oof.
Palace rueing their misses as Everton steps up to the spot to tie it up.
