Lol. You don't think it was a decent result? I think CP is probably fairly content with the outcome. And I didn't mean the specific team this year - they've been pretty fun and feisty and obviously seeing this out for 75+ mins of the game is huge. I meant club culture in general. I know a decent number of British footie fans and I've yet to come across anyone who's like "I bleed palace!!" Still really stoked for Richards and Turner and the team. Must be an amazing feeling to beat Pep and Citeh at Wembley for a trophy.
Henderson said Pep was complaining about how much time he wasted. Henderson responded you have nothing to complain about because you got your 10 minutes of added time.
Sure it’s decent if you think ending a 120 year drought in an era of mega teams against a 4-peat team with a more than double wage bill in a final at Wembley in front of 80,000+ that left fans weeping in the stands qualifies as “decent” and leaves them “satisfied”. You’re not knowing fans makes them boring? Ok.
Lol. Tough weekend DK? I've only been posting around here for like 25 years. If you don't appreciate my wry understated banter, ok, but yeah, I'm fully aware of the huge importance of beating Citeh at Wembley in the FA final for a club like Palace. I mean, come on. And if you think Palace is an exciting club, well, I've finally met the guy! But I dig your investment in this bit of tomfoolery.
I like how your bizarre posts are somehow a reflection on me and not you. Where I live - a club like Palace beating a club like City in this era of mega clubs is a cause for celebration and good for the sport. Your not knowing fans of the team is perhaps a reflection of the company you keep - not on the relative culture of the team - and just a bizarre basis for judging how exciting a team is. My weekend is going fine thanks.
Lol. K. (I mean, literally - and I mean literally literally - in post 977 yesterday, responding to and quoting you, I wrote this - "Still really stoked for Richards and Turner and the team. Must be an amazing feeling to beat Pep and Citeh at Wembley for a trophy." So, yeah, I'm aware it's a cause for celebration. You missed my attempt at humor with my "decent" post, you're not the first or the last, but to somehow still pretend I don't know it's a big deal is just dishonest at this point, but I'm going to clean some garage now, so have a good one.)
FA Cup winner Richards starts and FA Cup winner Turner on the bench against Wolves. Was hoping for a Wesley Okoduwa sighting for Wolves, but it's not happening. Also thought they might hand one of these last couple of matches to Turner, but at least not this one. Wolves somewhat better in the early going.
Corner kick and the magic watch says Agbadou put it over the line before it was cleared. Richards was getting mugged by Strand Larsen at the back post as the play developed, so potential VAR check on that.
Awesome team goal - Munoz along the sideline wins a header, does a scissoring leaping volley into space for Sarr, and Sarr playes a perfect square ball to Nketiah to finish in front. 2-1 Palace.
3-2 Palace now. Chilwell got his first Palace goal as his free kick took a magic deflection. Strand Larsen headed home a corner for Wolves, this time while not sticking his hand into Richards' mouth. Richards has switched from the left side of the backline to the right after subs.
Quick attack after a turnover and Eze - the only man in Palace history with a major trophy-winning goal - calmly finishes for 4-2.
Richards seems poised to achieve all of the goals he set for himself this season: 1) Win a trophy with Crystal Palace. 2) Help Palace exceed 50 points in the EPL. 2) Reach 1,000 posts in his BS play-by-play thread by season's end. With one game remaining Richards is so close he can taste it!
Don't look now but CP still up 1-0 to start the 2nd half. Been half-watching and Henderson made a great reaction kick-save to keep CP ahead and CP missed a great - and well set up - chance in front of the 'Pool goal, but it's hard to imagine CP seeing this out at this score. Richardson has been very solid - as had CP overall.
TBF Liverpool with a lot of uncharacteristic giveaways - like the one that led to the goal and one that just led to a good shot for CP. Pool are not firing on all cylinders, perhaps, but they when they attack they still look very dangerous.
Graves gets a YC for throwing a bit of a cross-body block into Richards trying to draw a foul (I think thats' why he got it.) Richards hardly moved.
And now Graven's off with a red for a wild open field challenge. Seems harsh but he has been a bit of a loose cannon all game. 68 mins. Chance of CP holding on just went up exponentially.
Pool tie it up. Richards not culpable tho the ball was played to his side. It was a Pool counter and the backs were scrambling back to get coverage and did not get organized fast enough.
Looks as though Richards came up just a little bit short, as did Palace, drawing 1-1 late, despite being up a man for a decent part of the second half. Palace finish where they often do - 12th, but with European competition to look forward to next season.
