Keegan is quoted as saying that he'll be "looking at other options" to fill the Honey Monster's place in the Man City defence.
I haven't seen much of him recently, aside from the match against Arsenal when he was made to look absolutely ridiculous by Henry and was taken off at half time.
    So much for the rehabilitation.......

    Step Forward O'Brien

I was kinda hoping that Dunne would work his way back into the Ireland team...

The arsenal match was a nightmare one....but defenders do often have a nightmare match so perhaps give him 'another' chance...dont know what any irish city fans think>?

if this is the final straw for him then I think its step forward Andy O'Brien........playing "regulary" very well for the joint second place team in England....not at all looking out of place in Champions League matches either....

dont let Paul McGrath's comment that 'his positional play is very weak' put you off...players do improve with age and this quote is a couple of years old. Bobby Robson did say that he was best value for money player he has bought in his time at Newcastle...I perhaps trust Bobby's judgement over McGraths...

rumours abound that howey and dunne were on the sauce, this time in altringham.

seems unlikely that keegan would sell him on the back of one bad game - arsenal. prior to that all keegan could do was sing the guy's praises.

we all know richard was in the last chance saloon...

hope this doesn't hurt his chances of a decent transfer. it's quite likely that he'll have to drop down a division.

If Dunne was out on the piss again and Keegan found out then his City career would definitely be over, can't see any other premiership clubs touching him either. For the moment, I'd favour a Cunningham O'Shea partnership regardless, O'Brien can hopefully step in later on as Cunningham is getting on a bit, and form a great partnership with O'Shea who will be well experienced at inernational level by then.

I still reckon Dunne has what it takes to be an top class player. Remember Amsterdam? I once saw him play in a Merseyside derby and he was outstanding that night too. If these new rumours are true it's a real pity he doesn't seem to able to sort himself out.
