Ledezma was interviewed this morning on Morning Footy. He touched on such things as learning on the fly playing RB, his tight relationships with the other PSV Yanks (including Earnie Stewart), his loan to NYCFC, Pochettino, his ambitious for US or Mex call up, and his Americanism in the Netherlands. Good interview. Cool, down to earth dude.
1. if Earnie wasnt there, doubt he'd have played this year or even returned to PSV tbh relationships matter so much in this sport 2. actively working on his mexican passport....sounds like he would accept a mex callup if it came. been 3 or 4 years out in the cold from usmnt...so he sounds just eager to play internationally cant blame him for considering alternatives but would suck to lose him to mex
He kinda sorta hinted on that. He said specifically that Stewart came to NY to see him and tell him he wanted him back at PSV. Without coming and saying it directly, he hinted that Stewart really stuck his neck out for him.
with the mega success of the other 3 yanks at PSV...this kinda thing can happen more easily its wild how well the American contingent is benefitting PSV now snowball effect, imo

theres at least 6 americans at PSV right now: Pepi, Ledezma, Dest, Tillman, Bresser, Stewart maybe tillman is more german and maybe dest is more dutch even though they play for usmnt....but whether any of these guys are dual nats is irrelevant to my point....its good to be american right now at PSV...it can only help
theres a lot of hyenas on here who love to tear down american players any chance they get...its so odd
I wonder about the level of the coaches in the mls, that a player can hold his own in the Eredivisie in a team that is far better than any team the mls has, doesnot get a spot in an mls team. Makes you wonder.
once epl started bring in pep and klopp and the other foreign coaches....thats when the league results started matching spending..... MLS would be so wise to get great coaches...and pay for them...but the mentality of the leadership there doesnt see it as useful for marketing.... it would help a lot in so many ways even someone kinda weak like tata was/is killing it there...although te klose bombed
PSV with 6 games in 3 weeks including a very tight turnaround from NEC to Juve and another Europe game not long after. Be a good test for the team and Ledezma, Tillman and probably even Pepi.
Just saw this on betting sight. I wouldn't take it to the bank - esp the bit about LdJ. I've not seen that anywhere else, but for sure Lozano, Dest, Junior and few other names on here are hurt. Fode Fofana, Armando Obispo and Sergino Dest are all nursing knee injuries, and neither will feature for PSV Eindhoven in Saturday's affair. The home side will also be without the services of Hirving Lozano and Mauro Junior, who are both down with muscle problems, while Fredrik Oppegard misses out through a knock. Last season's leading goalscorer, Luuk de Jong, is a major doubt for this one after the Dutchman came off with a first-half injury scare against Go Ahead Eagles.
We currently are ranked by UEFA as 6th, behind EPL, BuLi,La Liga, Serie A and Ligue Un. Which UEFA leagues are better than the Eredivisie?
Eredivisie Top 6 ==> Ligue Un bottom third Eredivisie Top 6 <==> Ligue Un mid table UEFA CL ==> both and PSV are playing a minimum of 8 CL games this season.
There have actually been some high profile coaches in MLS but the rules are so different that it's hard to judge the coaching especially using won / lost. Of course any league should want and welcome better coaching but even with more money coaches - like players - wouldn't leave teams in Europe that have a chance for CL action. The really good ones here leave pretty quickly. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Nancy and Cherundolo leave after the season.
I'm not saying there are better leagues. I'm saying the Dutch league just isn't as good as some think. Both can be true. The drop from the top 4 or 5 leagues, to wherever you believe the Dutch league to be, is HUGE. So I'm a little surprised but not shocked Ledezma has been decent when playing against a number of crappy lower table Dutch teams, on a good PSV side that could be competitive in a top 4-5 league.
