Bolton won the Asia cup with a 1-0 victory over the Thailand U-23s. Vaz Te was substituted into the game in the 63rd minute and:

Ten minutes later Portuguese substitute Ricardo Vaz Te had a golden opportunity to put Bolton in the lead when Henrik Pedersen's deep cross from the left found Vaz Te unmarked at the far post but he failed to hit the target heading the ball into the side netting.

Bolton have signed the striker Jared Borgetti subject to a medical.
Bolton have now arrived in Kobe, Japan and will play on Tuesday night and again on Friday before flying back to the UK to play against Hull City on Saturday and Bury on Monday!

If that was an actual question-yes.

    Much better.

To put it in Portuguese terms...

It's like asking if Guimaraes is a better team than Penafiel.

I read recently that Borgetti was opting to go to the UAE instead. What is the scoop ?

I don't know about that. Maybe a couple of seasons back you could emphaticately state that, but not so apparent currently. There is more parity now. :)

There is no comparison. Bolton finished in a Uefa Cup place, and WBA just managed to avoid relegation on the last day on the season!

I would say though that in terms of support and size of club they are very simliar.

Ricardo played the full 90 minutes today for Bolton again Vissel Kobe in Japan. Final score 1-1 with Diouf scoring for Bolton.

I will be travelling to Hull City on Saturday to see Bolton in action. Hopefully RVT will play, although I'm sure that many of the first team will be rested as they only leave Japan on Friday!

Should be an interesting game at the Reebok on Tuesday when they take on Malaga.

Shirts are available from www.bwfc.co.uk, or you could always try replicas off Ebay. Not sure if it is the same over in Canada, but the replicas certainly are poorer quality and don't have felt names and numbers on the back. They are usually iron-on.

The new first team shirt was only released for sale for the last game in the EPL against Everton. A new second and third shirt are being released any day.

If you are going to buy the Vaz Te shirt, make sure that it has this years number. Ricardo has previously played in the number 32 and 28 shirts over the last couple of years, but I understand he will be number 20 (previously Hierros shirt) for this season. I will check on this for you over the next day or two, and post a reply here.
