Pepi and Dest start! Shall we convene in the CL matchday thread?

ooof for Pepi. Heavily involved in 2 goals, albeit for the wrong team. And that as a #9. Hope he can put this one quickly behind him.

  3. He has to, as Ajax comes in on sunday..no time to mourn. Swallow it and move on.

  4. Must be very nice to have a coach, who covers your back after a disastrous match:

Bosz didn't want to go along with the criticism of his striker Ricardo Pepi, who caused the penalty in the early 0-1 and lost possession in the 0-2 just before halftime. "There is still a whole team behind him to solve that, so he was not saved there. With that penalty of the 0-1, he kicked that player full on his knee, so that was a justified penalty."

Must give you confidence to get on your feet again and go for it.

  5. Seems to be a occupatonal risk being second in command in PSV's striker position, getting injured.

The team was bad, but Pepi was quite poor.

There's some PBP in the Gameday thread, but Pepi played the whole match in a 2-2 draw with Ajax. Let Ajax equalize twice. Pepi with just one shot, one chance created, and 19 touches. 0% on duels. Gives Feyenoord a big opening.

More troubling than the 0% on duels is that he was only involved in 3.

Combine that with 19 touches and it shows that he just failed to get involved.

  11. In contrast to what some posters were telling, it isnot easy to score goals in the Eredivisie.

    lol.

Yes it is. There are endless examples of players scoring truck loads of goals in the Eredivisie and seeing their numbers come down dramatically after moving to a top 5 league.

Last season it had the second-most goals per game among Europe's top 15 leagues.

I'd be surprised if they were lower than that very often in the last 20 years.

I dunno, Tillman now has .74 G/90 in the Bundesliga - higher than his G/min in Ered or SPL - 2nd only to his GPM playing for BM2, so I have to conclude the Bund is easier to score in than the Ered...

It however, clearly a lot easier to get assists in the Ered.

  16. Endless examples, so...
Make a list of each season players scoring 20 goals or more for the last 10 seasons.
Given your claim that shouldnot be hard to have 5 players a season doing that, as that falls short of endless...

Edit: I'll give you last season with endless numbers of players scoring boatloads of goals:

  18. Guess your definition of truck loads is 16/14 goals.
Quite a bar to get at for being a truck load.
    season 2023-2024 get's 3
    upload_2025-9-21_22-49-14.png

Wow, the season 2022-2023 gives none with 20+ goals

  19. Care to show your not a fake facts spreader by finding a run of seasons that fit your claim of truck loads?

I think the question is how do they do in other more difficult leagues.

You need to go back and read my claim again.

Clearly you didn't understand it properly. @dark knight understands what I am saying.

I believe Tillman has answered that once and for all. Bundesliga is 50% easier than the Ered.

Debate is over. Stop the count.

Also, btw, Giroud proves that MLS is a harder league than Ligue 1. (Ironically I just looked up Ibra for laughs and his best G/90 was a season at PSG, followed by Ered, then MLS, so my claim stands the test of DATA!)

And Sun proves EPL is a harder league than MLS.

So I think we have our rankings.

(Interesting thing look at Ibra is how consistent his G/90 was across all league - esp by season. That surprised me. Just looked a de Jong too and his GP90 at Barca was in the middle of his GP90's at PSV. His Sevilla seasons sucked tho.)

Next match for PSV is against mighty, mighty Excelsior. Probably bottom of 2BL level. We'll see how Pepi does.

  24. I posted it isnot easy to score goals in the Eredivisie.
You posted endless examples of players score truckloads of goals in the Eredivisie.
I challenged you to make that claim true by setting a low bar of 20 goals.
This part of your post, "and seeing their numbers come down dramatically after moving to a top 5 league", has nothing to do with what I posted.
So don't keep on ducking and prove your point with facts players score truckloads of goals in the Eredivisie.
If it is that easy to score over here, you have no trouble listing a boatload of seasons with multiple players scoring 20 in a season.

  25. Has nothing to do with my claim it isnot easy to score in the Eredivisie, a claim I underlined with examples.
If I'm saying it isnot easy to score over here, am I then at the same time telling it is easy elsewhere? That's his phantasy.
If he challenges my post with the remark endless examples scoring truckloads, he has to be able to show that. It's easy to find those numbers, I showed where to find them.
