I googled translated those and it seems the majority want him fused (presumably to the bench) next year.

FC Groningen has done PSV a great service by playing a draw against Ajax (2-2) on Sunday. Thanks to the dramatic goal that fell in injury time, PSV is the leader of the Eredivisie with one round of play to go. One of PSV's players, Pepi, shows his gratitude after the match under an Instagram post from FC Groningen.

Have to imagine the unlikely championship was a little bittersweet for Pepi. Would he have been the one to score the winning second goal today, and not LdJ? Would they have even needed the last match heroics if he'd been fit and scoring this whole time? Could he have dealt with the pressure of sealing a championship?

A fit Pepi would have suffered from the same lack of creativity in midfield when Tillman was injured but there's no doubt that he would have scored the extra 3-5 goals for another 6 points, making the race neck-and-neck to the end.

Him and de Jong being fit would have meant a fresh striker on 65 minutes to punish tiring defences in the last 5-10 minutes, forcing opposition midfields to defend more, so PSV would have conceded 3-4 goals less, particularly late on.

I'd say they would definitely have won the title. Just not as comfortably as seemed likely back in February

A healthy and starting Pepi next season, I wanna see him aim for 25-30 goals in all competitions next season.

Was looking through the last week of PSV/de Jong silly season rumors while watching some games this weekend. Among the (likely made up or based on very little) claims:
Dries Mertens or Vardy being looked at as replacements (because you can't go a whole season without an old dude to put up front at least once in a while, apparently)
Earnie in the hot seat due to Ritchie and a few others leaving on free.
Peresic leaving (to Barca, apparently) and Luuk also leaving... but no one has any idea to where.

All the news that's fit to print, right here at your fingertips.

Rent-to-own with a 15 mill price tag, according to Dutchie Dag

Loum Tchaouna to PSV this summer?
Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad writes that ‘PSV will certainly try at dream candidate Tchaouna’. “It is true for the offensive part of the PSV team that someone must first be sold before PSV wants to strike. The nomination includes Noa Lang and Johan Bakayoko, who has been associated with Bournemouth in England. For the time being, the latter does not seem very serious. Nothing has been proven to be a concrete offer. Bakayoko has been on many lists at larger clubs for years and always wanted to see a team that plays for the prizes.”

PSV is looking beyond Luuk de Jong, but with respect and also hope for a longer stay.

PSV is no longer waiting on the transfer market for the plans of Luuk de Jong, who has still not indicated whether he wants to continue at the Eindhoven club. The scouting activities for a new striker have continued unabated in the past period. This is done with respect for De Jong's wishes.

Stay at PSV for one more season. Be THE guy. Not guy 1B like he was for LdJ. Even more lucrative offers will come in after another big Eredivisie season, a strong CL campaign and a solid WC. But money does talk.....

Lots of action on the Fulham rumor in the Dutch press. Dagblat saying the bid would need to be "crazy money". Saw 30 mill mentioned somewhere else. 15 to 30 on another headline. Dagblat says there are some in the 25-30 range but that won't be enough. States PSV are not interested in selling unless it's "crazy" offer. I'm sure they're all sourced from the same anonymous tiktok or something, but that's what's out there in today's Pepi news.

We’ve asked this question many times in different ways, but apparently in Europe Pepi’s right to privacy outweighs our right to know.

  17. For Ricardo Pepi, the next few weeks will be all about rehabilitation. The attacker suffered a knee injury in January and is expected to be fully fit again in mid-July, according to the current expectation. PSV starts the new season a little earlier, but the first official match is at the beginning of August. So that doesn't have to be an insurmountable problem. In the meantime, several teams continue to follow him and a number of bids are ready, if they want to continue.
