Didn't Pepi attend a Mexican camp or two while national team "shopping" - I think the guy was most likely to go where he got the most love. He was involved in the texas club scene at a pretty high level pretty early, so the US was likely the more natural move, but iirc correctly we courted him more aggressively as well.
Decisions, decisions. League game today (Friday). I've spoken with @feyenoordsoccerfan about this before, but with Champions League matches returning (Tue/Wed) next week, several leagues have Friday matches featuring their CL teams. In Italy, Inter, Milan and Atalanta all play today. In France, PSG, Lille, and Brest. Stuttgart in Germany.* Anyway, PSV (1st) host FC Twente (5th) today. then visit Brest on Tuesday. LdJ played 77' on Sunday. My inclination (always) would be to rotate, so Pepi today, then LdJ on Tuesday. We'll know soon what Bosz has in mind. ++++++++++++ *No Friday flex from England. Is that a flex of a modern colour?
Did Sinterklass leave a treat in Pepi clogs... Sportsmole guesses that Pepi starts. If he does it will be #1 Ered striker vs. #2 in Eindhoven.
Because they're not a CL side. Man City and Arsenal don't play until Wednesday, but Liverpool and Aston Villa play (Saturday and) Tuesday. I would think an adjustment would be helpful, but the PL just made these teams play this midweek on Wednesday
But Aide/an and co play today! (wrong thread, but I wanted to flex on your flex with my ball of Knowledge!)
I know there's no sign of it anywhere, but I still hold out hope that Tillman kid will come good. PSV up 3-1, but Pepi not on the board yet, and that Twente guy got another notch in his boots.
Pepi ended w/ a goal and an assist in a 6-1 thrashing. The YA connection at PSV doing damage: YA - G / A Pepi 1 / 1 Tillman 1 / 0 Richie 1 / 0 4 of 6 goal contributions by YAs.
PSV has been treating the Eredivsie like my Celtic do the SPL….. total domination. Not even a question of winning. It’s only of question of, by how much and which YA scored. 1st world problems.
You must mean FC Eindhoven? They are nearly scraping the bottom of the Eerste... (cause ajax is 2nd in the Ered and 6th in Europa, so...)
Was "in a shambles" you mean. Like PSV, they've lost only one game this season and have won 7 of their last 8 games. If they win their game in hand, they're only 6 points behind albeit with a massively inferior GD and the winter break is approaching. The loss of momentum could - could - hurt PSV. I still expect PSV to win the league again this season, but Ajax are a much-improved side now.
Probably the most impressive part of the YA performance this season is they got me to create an avatar for the first time in 20 years
Three data points that stood out for me: 1) Two of the three are American-born and raised 2) Both of them went through MLS academies (RSL and Dalla) 3) Only one of them is a Germerican
